A big thank you to those who pointed out that there is a meaning behind HUNK's name: Human Unit Never Killed. Enjoy!
  • One of the cool things is in RE6 is Jake sates he was mentored by a mercenary with no name. It's speculated HUNK was the one who trained him. Makes sense when you think about Hunk's connection to Wesker and Umbrella as a whole. I'm wondering if he also received the Virus the Wesker children were injected with. It would help explain his superhuman durability, speed and strength. It makes sense for Umbrella to invest in a soldier who is literally named Human Unit Never Killed and never fails a mission.
  • I really want hunk to appear again in a mainline game with his own story. The guy is ridiculously cool and I really want more lore on him in general

Just love his design. That iconic 1980s SAS look was such a great choice for Hunk by Capcom.

Hunk is in that weird character category where: he would not work as the main protagonist or even antagonist, but he IS the epitome of omega epic deuteragonist. It's like his presence itself is a cherry on top to the entirety of the lore but he is more active within it than mere fixed element of it.
  • HUNK is the type of character where less is more. I don't think he should get a full game to himself, maybe a short movie, but I think the best way forward for HUNK is to have him appear in Bonus Feature side-story modes like The 4th survivor in every game or every second game. They could make money making it a DLC and the fanbase would love having more content of him.

HUNK definitely deserve his own game and he is literally the doomguy in the franchise of the game. He is and he will be my favorite character of all time.

I always considered HUNK’s appearance in RE4’s “Mercenaries” mode as a canon appearance. He was there. Doing something. For someone . Behind-the-Scenes. As always. 🙂

I love the interactions with him alongside Rachael and Chris in Revelations raid mode. Rachael: "pleased to work with you Dr. Death" HUNK: "you wouldn't be if you knew how I got that name." Chris: "this is our first time working together right?" HUNK: ". . ."
  • I'd love to see a DLC starring Hunk where he has to go into zones and wipe out the remaining monsters in places that the Resident Evil characters were in. The ruins of Raccoon, the Village from RE 4, Wesker's African base, etc. Just an idea.

He's not exactly a "Grim Reaper". He's the one you send to kill the Grim Reaper. Hunk is a man of focus, commitment and sheer freakin' will. Things most other Umbrella operatives know very little about.

I think the funniest part of that cutscene with Hunk trying to take in Birkin is that Martinez killing Birkin is described as a snafu, like I've only ever heard snafu used for little mistakes and errors, not brutally shooting a man because you thought he had a gun

What feds into HUNK's status in the RE community. Is that HUNK's constant appearance in RE: Bonus Modes as a monetary or late game unlock. With conditions such as get good rank as a requirement. It adds to his status and value. HUNK is an acronym for "Human Unit Never Killed." It is rare how despite how other characters get new voices and actors. HUNK has the luxury of keeping his Voice consistent. The VA being Keith Silverstein. He's been voicing HUNK since RE:Mercenaries 3D. HUNK also appeared in the videogame Lost Planet 3 with custom voice lines in a character pack of DLC.

They're probably shy about giving HUNK his own RE game because every time he's involved, it's always some high discipline corporate warfare-feeling vibes and fans probably feel like that interferes with the horror feel. HUNK is a badass and his fanbase deserves to be accommodated but the taste for HUNK is just probably too niche for the huge camp of more fairweather fans whose opinions likely decide the direction for the next RE project.
  • I think what makes Hunk so interesting is just how little we know about him. I definitely think he should show up more often, just not as a main character
  • As much as I love playing as and seeing Hunk, I prefer not having a whole game designed around him. I feel like it takes away from his purpose, this unkillable character without any real information known other than he's a badass and is almost always the only one that comes out the door
  • If I remember correctly, HUNK means "Human Unit Never Killed" which makes him so badass after all these years
  • @MrGtrix1
i love it when hunk said "its hunking time!" and proceeded to hunk. truly a hunk moment
  • HUNK's identity should remain a mystery because that's what makes him cool and interesting. If they do put him in future installments any background information about him should be drip fed to the audience. He's like the Ganado merchant in RE4. You don't need to know everything about him.
  • I wonder if HUNK was potentially genetically enhanced by Umbrella after showing incredible promise during training. Or maybe he was just incredibly naturally skilled.
