I bought an Infiniti for $800 and this 2007 Ford Focus got thrown in with the deal. Now that I've got it home it's time to see what we bought and whats wrong with it.

  • In answer to your question "Why are Ford still making that part for a 2007 Focus?" It's probably because MOST of Europe, Africa, Australia, New Zealand the Far East, the Indian sub continent and Asia still drive manual cars and THAT particular manual gearbox is probably still being made and fitted to stick shift Ford's to this day. It's just an oddity in North America. There are quite literally millions of manual Ford Focus cars all over the world. That would also explain why it's been revised over the years ( to fit more modern gearboxes).

I really like when you fix and flip cars like this! It's like the first time I started watching you years ago. Can't wait to watch you finish it and polish it out!!!

I’m really happy you’re saving this. It seems like such a great car that was so loved by its prior owners.

This was a great video and reminded me of older episodes. Keep up the great work, and I look forward to seeing the finished Focus.

My sister bought a brand new focus in 2009 and still has it to this day. It has just under 70,000 original miles.
  • Manual transmissions are very common in Europe. It seems likely the part is recently manufactured because the transmission is still being used on current vehicle(s).
  • People like these videos because we learn ways to fix common issues on common cars .
  • I‘d love to see a full tune up and a detail of the car. This grey plastic needs to be all black again. Looking forward to that! Great series 👍 Cheers mate
  • I was the original owner of a 2009 Focus Titanium. I sold it with 175,000 miles to a friend's son, who drove it for years without any issues other than wear items and maintenance. Sadly, he hit a deer on the highway, which totaled the vehicle.

I had an 05 Focus Ghia here in Aus, sedan made in South Africa that I bought in ‘11 with 20 thousand kilometres (12 thousand miles) basically brand new, with climate control Ac, high end sound system with sub woofer , cream leather power seats and 4 speed automatic transmission, cruise control, abs brake system (no esp) 4 air bags and 16 inch alloy wheels with 205/50 tyres, it was $30k new and I got it for $15k and the dealer gave me a cheque trading in my Territory Ghia SUV with 150k km on it, best steering of any vehicle bar none, handling was superb, they were all noisy and I considered putting in a heap of sound deadening to quiet it down but traded it in on my turbo Falcon 3 years later
  • The cruise control may not be working because too much play between the clutch switch and the tang on the clutch pedal. You can test it by putting your foot behind the clutch pedal. Lift it upward to full up, if the cruise then turns on the distance between the switch and tang is too far. The cruise thinks clutch pedal is down and won't turn on. Had 10 of those cars. Common issue😊

Wow! I never realized that the US spec Focus MK1 has a different dashboard than the Focus MK1 EU spec 😮

This car looks like it was speced for the dealership's owner's kid. After the kid left a Mustang GT in a flooded irrigation ditch.
