They usually run at least two trains on Steel Force, but I've only been there a few times. By far the best thing about this park for me is its scenery, it is such a peaceful park, and it's a park that you can just take your time and relax in. The creek is very pleasant, and the trout pond they have by Demon Drop is a lovely addition as well. I always look forward to going here. As for the food, I love how they have strawberry soft serve, and Auntie Annies is a goddess when it comes to pretzels.
  • Dorney is such an underrated park. Once you go here more often, you realize its charm. Plus, the coasters are truly awesome. It’s a shame to see this park so neglected sometimes.
  • Dorney is in a pretty tough spot, as it is surrounded by Six Flags Great Adventure, Hersheypark, and Knoebels, all of which are parks you'd probably pick over Dorney.

Allentown native here. Dorney seems to go downhill every year as the price increases. Really only worth it for the haunt

This is my home park, I visit about 30+ times a season (I also used to work there). While there is a lot of concrete, there's also a ton of greenery, in my opinion. As for the running 1 train thing, Thunderhawk ALWAYS runs 1 train, unless it forms a line that reached the end of 1 switchback (that's the measurement for adding train #2). Everything else almost always runs 2 trains. My guess is the dry side was even less crowded than usual that day with the hot temperatures (everyone was probably in the water park) and they ran 1 train to make things easier on the employees since it was so humid.

I live really close to this park and I’ve been here so many times. I hate how much people don’t appreciate it!

I’m going their this week and I’m so excited! It will be my first time going there!

I live 5 minutes away from Dorney so I buy a season pass every year. They usually run 2 trains.
  • I work at Dorney! I see a lot of great things happening there and I think 2018 is looking to be our year as the workers are very nice this year and it’s so much cleaner than in past years. I think our main focal point is our variety and our entertainment and not so much “thrill” per se. unless you’re doing the water park. But it would be nice to also start reviewing experiences with employees there cause I think the team we have currently trying to make your time at dorney fun are very nice this year.

I found it interesting the B&M Coasters were silent. visited over the summer. you can knock this park out in 4-5 hours. went on a Thursday. They ran 2 trains on everything except the woody coaster. empty and relaxed. didn't feel crowded at all. loved the scenery and bridge over the creek.

Don’t forget the weird log ride with a slope instead of a drop. And they saved all the charm for the historic Zephyr train.

I agree, however in the early 2000's it was an amazing time to be at Dorney. Dorney still has many more rides to come in the future. I think it would be worth another visit in the next few years.
  • I visited Dorney Park for the first time back in June of this year and I had an awesome time. I was very blessed that I got to go back again in july. Sure it was hot but i made the best of it. I saw lots of beautiful landscaping when I was there and it's a very peaceful park for sure. What I love is hat they that beautiful clear water creek running through the park, and you can feed the geese that live in.the park during the warmer months. It may not be a destination park like cedar point but I think that works well in their favor ! I can't wait to visit Dorney again !
  • I live in the PA and I come here basically twice a week they do have two carts running most of the time since I’ve been there only one of the days there was only one train running but the park was empty that day so there’s a answer if you haven’t got one and it was the same in 2017 cause I get a season pass every year.
  • way back in 2011 when i was in middle school, i was actually the 10 millionth rider on Talon! they had a whole celebration planned with cake and the local news station, but i’ve always had bad social anxiety so i didn’t exactly enjoy all the attention haha. it was still a cool experience, my family got our own personal ride on the coaster and even a guide to take us around and skip the lines (although i made my dad ask him to leave since i was really shy and felt uncomfortable getting special treatment). i have the certificate somewhere, i gotta find it! it was a cool moment for a little baby coaster enthusiast back then lol
