I`m 62 and been a runner for 47 years. You give great advice on here even for experienced runners. I`d add one more "tip." Enjoy your running and train to live, not live to train. Forget times, calories, how much good it does you and as often as possible just enjoy moving. Get to a beach and run calf deep in the surf where sky meets shore, even better still do it when its raining and just enjoy the moment and being young, fit and alive.

I usually canβt make it 1/2 a mile before I have to gasp for air and plan my funeral but I tried these techniques and let me tell you I was straight COASTING for 6 miles!! I always thought I was an out of shape asthmatic but it turns out I was just an out of shape asthmatic with bad form. Thanks so much Natacha you are a gift! β₯οΈππ»

Me: running normally Natacha: "how to run" Me: questions everything I know about running

The thing which really helped my running (especially mid/long distance) was understanding my mentality. 1. So firstly, remember that it will always get easier ... and then harder... and then easier ... and then harder - your mental and physical state fluctuates so don't give up when it gets hard as it will always get easier again! 2. Secondly, I found that once I'd broken the 'sweat-barrier' I found it much easier to keep going. But getting to that point (which may be a couple of miles into the run) I find really really hard; the first (miles) are the worst!

Honestly, you're such an informative Youtuber. I feel so inspired and enlightened when I finish one of your videos.

Hey beautiful people π Iβve been very lucky to have incredible running coaches across the different events Iβve competed at and I wanted to share some of the most important and easy to implement technique pointers and tips they taught me πββοΈ Happy running and thanks for the constant support! β€οΈ

Sprinting: donβt be tensed, look straight ahead with shoulders down, elbows at 90 degrees, knees high and parallel to the body, land on tip of feet Mid Distance: stay relaxed, donβt pump arms, knees not as high, land on tip of feet to middle of feet, donβt exhaust yourself at beginning, focus on technique

Remember... the first 15 minutes of a run are the hardest, just get past that and youβll be great. β€οΈ

I've always hated running, but this video makes me wonder if I should give it another go because maybe it's because my form is just terrible haha. Thanks Natacha!

I'm a little freaked out right now. I want to take up running again and this timing could not be more perfect. Thanks a lot Update : a year later, November 2020. Starting at the beginning of the year, running a full minute was a struggle as I hadn't ran since high school cross country (like 5 years ago). Today I ran for 42 minutes non-stop

Long distance running is "the" most relaxing, soothing, stress free thing u cld do, the euphoria u get from it is priceless...I love these tips though thk u

i remember the first time i watched this video. i memorized all of the techniques, and the next day when i went to the gym, i ran 45 minutes NON-STOP around the track. prior to that day, i was only able to run for about 5 minutes at a time before i needed to take a break. so in conclusion, THIS VIDEO IS THE TRUTH!!

Iβm a former Track and Field and Cross Country athlete for high school and a current coach for elementary students. I found this super helpful as it not only serves as a review, but I learned new things as well (or a better way to explain technique). Thank you and keep up the great content!

I implemented your tips in my run yesterday and the improvement was CRAZY!! I was able to run 3km with only a 30 second walk break! The distance doesn't seem like a lot, but before watching his video I was struggling to run 2km without having to walk half of it. It's crazy how much I was working against myself without realizing it, and my sprint at the end felt like I was running on a cloud! You have completely changed how I run, THANK YOU SO MUCH

Why didnβt my teachers in school never teach me this? They only made me feel bad about being horrible at running
-
Natacha! I used these tips, and I kid you not, I ran farther than I ever had on my next run without becoming tired! Your videos are the greatest. Thank you for helping us :)
