She was an 8th grade CHILD forced to jump from 12 feet up onto a broken leg over and over and over and over again for 8+hrs/day and she was beaten by her father when she disobeyed. She is a tiger, but she is also an abuse victim. USAG has been outed for their horrific treatment of athletes.

She is the reason I love watching gymnastics. First time I watched gymnastics was her performing at the 1996 Olympics 🥰 Have loved watching the sport ever since!

I’ve seen gymnasts split the beam so many times, but nothing has ever compared to the pit in my stomach feeling I had when she crashed onto her head and managed to keep it together and nail the rest of her routine. Considering the immense bullshit she went through in her career, she kept it all together remarkably well.

I love watching her so for is perfection when she nails it. Her somersault landings, for example, are so beautiful with her legs & knees cleanly together unlike most gymnasts. But always in my mind is what she said about Bela Karolyi forcing her to train and compete while she was injured. The Karolyis were responsible for lifting the US teams but also destroying them.

Just incredible. She had to emancipate from her parents as they basically were stealing from her. I never forgot that. One of the best gymnasts ever!

This is the first time I've ever seen her ° !! Amazing !! Almost unbelievable that anyone could jump around like that on a 4 inch wide bar !! She's terrific !!
