Started in 1994, Les sons de l'été (French: The Sounds of Summer) is still a work-in-progress, a setting of a series of poems which tell a tale of ancient prophecy, wherein the Fairest (the One of Light) meets her Chosen (the One of Shadow), a harbinger of the coming of the Seven. This prelude is a semi-independent work which tells the full story which is later recapped in 3 separate movements and a finale. Score recording with MIDI. Segues hopefully, like a quiet but firm promise, into the first movement, which begins with the song of the Solstice Festival.
