The Summer Program to Fight Hunger and Climate Change on Long Island, NY, trains and mobilizes High School youth to use Sustainable Landscaping practices to fight for Food and Environmental Justice. As part of this program, youth are encouraged to work in small groups to design their own sustainable gardens or small community farms.

Martha Williams, a farmer with a deep-rooted passion for food systems justice and a personal mission to develop sustainable, cooperative communities, co-ordinated this five part series of instruction, as part of the Students' training covering questions such as: What is agriculture? What are different practices? How do we grow food in practice and improve yield while practicing sustainable methods that will improve soil and benefit the environment?
