I have far too many boots, and its time to clean house! Of the 75 plus boots I own, I'll be keeping only five pair and begin collecting again. The byproduct of having a channel which features gear like boots and jackets is that eventually they pile up! So it's time to find new homes for these amazing boots.

Reviews of clothing, boots, and accessories for men, along with style advice and life philosophy. I've been working with my hands for my entire life as a mechanic, tow truck driver, and eventually a licensed electrician. Being a blue collar guy, I look for certain elements in a product: is it durable? Is it high-quality? Will it perform well over its service life? Whether boots, pants, jackets, or tools I believe it's best to buy once and cry once by getting the best you can afford. With so many options these days, choosing the best product can become a difficult decision, but that's where I come in. Helping you stay stylish, rugged, and handsome.
I don't care where it's made as long as it's made well and allows you to own less and own better.

I don't blame you for keeping those Allen Edmonds, there's nothing in their lineup today that remotely compares to that pair that you have.
  • I appreciate how much thought you put into your choices here Carl. Not everything was a heater, but they all meant something super special. While I don’t agree that loafers suck, I get they aren’t for everyone
  • @colinkelly279
Glad we got to share in your boot journey and I am sure you inspired a lot of boot buys over the years and helped a number of companies out. Thanks for letting us ride along.

Love your picks as well. The patina on those Odenwalds is incredible. The GS Diesel isn’t the flashiest boot but it’s so comfortable- literally all day walkable on or off trails, and yeah you could even wear them to a wedding. Cheers man! I love loafers!

Thanks for all you do! I have been enjoying your channel for several years now. Your content definitely relates to me as I was in the electrical trade for 10 years and currently in the retail/commercial fuel industry for 14 years. Please continue and all the best!
  • I see zero issues with what you decided to keep cause that’s a killer lineup of boots! I only have a couple pairs of boots now but that’s a couple pair more than the number of loafers I own because loafers suck.

I really appreciate people like you who have in-depth reviews on boots. It's helped me not only pick out good, everyday, high qualitly boots. It's also helped me pick out work boots that best suit my daily needs. I work 10 hours a day, so a good, supportive, and durable boot is nessasary. Finding that in steel toed boots is a hassle sometimes of you're not educated in good craftmanship. But i also have to say staying within your budget is a good thing, too. So, being able to make a well-educated decision has helped me pick the most bang for my buck. Yeah, they might not check off every box on the list. But at least the boots i have will get me home and in one piece and comfortable at the end of my day.
  • Good choices! White’s Semi-dress last/fit is hard to beat so it’s no surprise you are keeping the Bounty Hunter’s. One engineer, service, cap-toe, dress, work pretty much covers it.

I have been wanting a pair of diesel boots and some White's MP boots for a while now. Seeing you keep them definitely makes me want them even more. Loafers Suck.

I love it. This is why I am a Carl patreon and a discord member because Carl is clearly a good person. I had never been a patreon to anyone else for more than 1 months before Carl. The discord is the best also.
  • @mattdalton1
I hope no one gives you grief, because those are thoughtful choices and they highlight your individuality which is a big part of why your channel is so, so good. This also makes me feel better about buying Grant Stone diesel boots in August. ;-) I really like them so far and can hardly wait for the natural chromexcel leather to darken like yours have. Loafers suck but your boot collection sure doesn’t.
  • @marlenakauer5262
Great job thinning the herd! You picked some great ones. Thanks for your generosity! Loafers suck! The one place we disagree haha. I’ve got a pair Alden’s I picked up second hand on Ebay and plan on getting a pair from Oak Street Bootmakers. I got their camp Mocs and wear them all the time. Especially gardening!
  • @user-iz9ms9ff7w
I’ve been debating on selling boots just to get a better pair of work boots as is. Love what you’re offering to people, Carl. P.s. loafers suck.
  • @tjs1189
So hard to figure out the five I would keep from my collection. Mainly because I only have two so I need to buy three more pairs.
  • @thejiraffe4966
Really grateful for your input on boots. Helped avoid overspending, especially because loafers suck
  • @pherble
I ordered the Pullman (then Gr**ser) back in June when you did the video on it as I'd been looking for an engineer that I was confident would fit and was unique. I'm glad to hear it just wasn't a drop that would never be heard from again. Mine is still in the production queue, and worst case may be February, but I look forward to when they show up. Thanks for the original collab, and the vote of confidence you are still showing in this video.
  • A couple of these were definitely not a surprise, but the AEs were a surprise to me! Personally I think you would benefit from a nice casual loafers but hey, you think loafers suck
  • @HARMAN7777
I'm heart broken that the tanker boot didn't make the cut! 😢 And just so you know loafers SUCK!!!
  • @MiddlingMarksman
I appreciate the breadth of your boot knowledge. Always great to see new and sometimes obscure boots. Especially since loafers suck.
  • @tarasmathers7423
👏👏👏....bravo Carl my friend. I love the reasoning behind the selections. I gotta say those GS "Diesel's" are primo-patina level. I never knew they could look that good. And those "Bounty Hunters" have sold me on the unstructured toe. I'm really happy to see how far things have come for you. Here's wishing you all the best. P.S. Loafers suck bad....
