Just a reminder that possibly the very first robot ever thought of by mankind, Talos from Greek mythology, was a giant robot. So mecha has been around for actual millennium.

Gigguk : Gunpla appeals only to the dedicated hardcore fandom as opposed to the mass audience Pewdiepie : I think Gundam is for all ages. Small brain, big brain. You can do different sizes. Depends on how picky with the series you are. Look at how divisive the world is. Gundam builds should be what brings the Earth together. Anyone can build
