Today I revisited the pay-to-win minecraft servers we duped on, to analyse and see if we actually did any damage to them, and see if they are doing better or worse months later...

Rather depressing to see that some of these servers have not only recovered but also grown. It is honestly quite painful to see Purple Prison still spamming themselves everywhere.

Regarding Microsofts stance on gambling. A server I play on was recently forced to remove the /lotto command (a lottery using in game money). Yet the SAME Microsoft Employee had no problem with the crates on the server. Pick a lane Microsoft.

Mojang when servers have guns: 😭😡 Mojang when a gigantic server encourages underage gambling: 😴

Makes a lot of sense that the dupes don't do much long term damage; it's not about money, it's about sending a message. Honestly the thing that most surprised me was that that one Twitter user who liked literally every tweet containing "Minecraft" was actually the one who founded MelonSMP, I got taken back seeing that name and profile picc

As a OG player of Purple Prison I have some information 1. The server is dying the number of people is going down. There is a lot of people but they are all afk with the /afk 2. They finally removed the thing that was saying huge sell -90% on everything. 3. To talk about the p2w aspect. There is 2 type of player. 1. The player that his just axe pvping by buying thing on the store wont help when you axe pvp if your not good at axe pvp it wont make you better. The other type of player is the player that is just getting stacked in item and money but some of these players they are buying in the store to get more money. Like the player called luvrainex that bought 400 create for $2400. 4. Some of the mod are corrupt sometimes in the ffa /ffa the mod are helping some player. 5. The mod are banning the wrong player. When someone is cheating and we can clearly see it they wont ban the player. But when you are just good at pvp your getting banned. Like today they banned 2 people that was not hacking me included. Yes I got banned because they think am auto click but am just doing 9 cps and the real cheating people that are hitting us at 5 block are not getting banned. 6. The MOD are just toxic people that dont care a single piece of the player. And the mod wont be punished because they are all friend with the owner. The server is dying so it would be a good time if you want to attack it. So pls can back and dupe on it and finish it they also added a new command /gw and am sure there is a dupe glitch in that. if you need a hand let me know.

The problem with your duping is that it is a temporary solution especially since you only did it for a short time which can be solved by doing a rollback. Imagine if you duped then waited for 2 weeks or so before distributing it, or even slowly crashing the economy by selling the keys little at a time. Just providing possible reason why they failed. Also, your videos make them more popular due to exposure. Though, these exposure also raises awareness that can prevent others from falling for these scams. Anyway, kudos to you guys for making an effort in preventing p2w servers from exploiting others.
  • @challengerschoice
If you want to destroy these servers you have to distribute stuff over a longer period of time and not just drop everything in 5 minutes.
  • @dmdev_
I really like it when P2W servers are duped on, Although it doesn't change much. It sends a message.
  • @Ncsc2401
One must imagine Sisyphus duping in P2W servers
  • @FancyDucko
yes I have wondered what happed after you guys duped on those servers
  • @swankierSpy2658
I think gambling with crates on servers is fine as long as the only way you can get the ‘keys’ is by completing in game quests, or doing stuff in game without spending any real money
  • @hisamuslu9788
It's actually cool that Zedar(?) still has the wall thing setup, small easter egg to the duping
  • @Ceriseee123
next time you should try duping and hiding the duped items on random places near spawn, so the mods wont notice and if they try to rollback they would be forced to do a day/week rollback, then you can do real damage
  • @epicgamertool
Hopefully a dedicated group of players 🌚 can dupe on Donut SMP again
  • to make the damage permanent, you can simply just dupe a lot of items, and come back after a few months, then distribute. rollbacking several months would probably immediately kill half of the playerbase due to all their hard work being gone
  • @flamingpaxtsc
Well, I don’t really know what you’d expect. Duping only really changes things for a week, and giving attention from a YouTube video is just more fuel to the fire
  • @commandocorp5834
man this is one hell of a dilema before we had to pay people to be kept in prison and now they pay us to keep them inside the prison thats one hell of a change
  • @MikeyD594
I love all the AVO references in your videos, really gives me those early 2010 flashbacks to minecraft griefing
