I'm still alive. What an amazing thing to say. I was homeless when this song came out, always rolled my eyes when the more positive part of the song would come on because I didn't want to believe in myself. I've come so close to the edge every time. Even now, when I finally have a home, I came the closest to having my method picked out, and going through with it. That was months ago and now I've erased the thought from my mind. My girlfriend saved my life after I spent years swearing I'd never let myself love again. Now I listen to this song for the first time in years and I feel like I've come so far. I'm almost twenty, I'm going to take my life back. I'm alive. I did it!!

depression feels like being held back while everyone else is being pushed forward or being shoved and you feel like your being tripped and walked on but you still help other that are being tripped and you push them but you never get a push. sorry if this doesn’t make sense )

This song is so relatable. Depression is real man. You just don't see it most of the time cause people hide it. They could be thinking about to plan on the attempt and you won't know because your not them or in there mind.

This song has been out for over a year, and I remember listening to it then... singing along to the beginning with tears falling down my face. “It’s the very first breath when you’re heads been drowning under water” that first step, baby steps. A day at a time, an hour at a time, a minute, or even seconds at a time keep pushing, keep fighting because I promise you it gets better. I listened to this song the other darkest part of my life and promised myself that I would look at this song as I do now... as I’ve gotten to a place of accepting the past. Accepting my mistakes and choices... some things I wish I could change, but can’t. I’m continuing to learn, heal, and grow every day. Some days are good, some are bad and that’s okay. Anyone who has gotten this far, no matter where you are in your life... you are cared for, you are loved, you are needed. You are strong, smart, amazing, and have a beautiful soul that was put in this earth to shine. That light at the end of the tunnel, step by step it’s getting brighter and brighter. You are a warrior(I don’t care if it’s clingy, it’s true) every morning you wake up, is a small victory. every day you push yourself to be better and do better for yourself. When someone ask me what's wrong I don't even talk I just put this song on

I’ve been depressed for about 2 or 3 years. I’ve had suicidal thoughts but I’ve never went through with them. About 3 days ago I started working out. I heard so many people saying that it helps depression and sadness. Today is the 3rd day and I feel so much better. I still have extreme panic attacks but I don’t feel so alone anymore. (Thanks to Chloe Ting) I’m not telling you to exercise, but rather that things will eventually get better. I’ve had depression since I was 10 (I’m 13 now) And no, I’m not one of those faked depressed teens. Just try to find the little joys in each day. If you ever do feel the need to talk to someone call this number, right here in the song title.
