  • I think the control for the thumb is a rational approach. I was debating a hydraulic cylinder for my factory thumb but was stumbling over the control cost. Think I will follow your lead - thanks- great video

Morning Dave! Great mods - thanks for sharing. The thumb must make it much easier to manage materials. Did not know you could get a separate seat. Great info - have a good one!
  • Great mods. I have a 2610 with bh77 as well. My previous Kubota had the separate seat and when I bought the LX I was hoping the seat would be included with the backhoe.I’m not a fan of the swivel seat either so I’m going to get the extra seat .
  • Well Dave, my "kubogy " had & still does have it's problems. The BH92 on a Mx5200 First acted like a "slow-motion" cramped "tinker-toy". I jacked up the front " buck-board " ( Operator's seat) 4". Moved the backhoe seat up 3" & 4" back ( not easy- ROPS bars in way). Changed out 2 Main hydraulic hoses & fitings from loader assembly's feed, resulting in a 40% in speed & able to use 4 Controls at once--just like a "REAL BACKHOE". A Mecanical BH92 Thumb-@ 950.°°$, a BH 92 quick coupler-@ 700.°°$, & a 24" QC bucket @ 1200.°°$, & a 12" QC bucket @ 900.°°$. All replacing the original PITA. 18" pin on bucket. Just have to "Rig" a hydraulic cylinder & valve for the thumb to "Eliminate the PITA. " mechanical slider linkage ( that is never in the right spot & gets moved 25-50 times during a 3 hour adventure). That after-market "BX " Thumb is a piece of JUNK, for your application- Too small, no interlocking teeth & just Not Right. My suggestion is send it to the "Scrape-heap" for Safty & production reasons, and replace it with a 700.°°$ Factory Kubota unit---you won't regret it. Thank you Sir for the Excelent vidio and happy safe tractoring. I just got "jacked" by the U-tube police. Said a Whole lot more helpfull information.

I have a B3200 w/ the BH77 and I hate the swivel seat. I kept the standard seat mounting bracket (dealer was going to toss it). I wonder if the B3200 has enough space for both seats.
  • Hi Dave, Thank you for posting. Great info here. I appreciate your doing the research for us. Would the BXpanded longer thumb work for your setup or would there be an interference issue with the longer fork tines on the thumb? I love the BH77 dolly. Great mod. What is the height of the wheels you are using. I would love to build something similar. Thanks, Dan
  • Great video. Due to my limited space I am definitely thinking of making a dolly, like yours. Then I saw your dolly already built and carrying your BH77 quite nicely. Could you please let me know what your tractor height (to where the BH77 pins fit in to your tractor) and some rough dimensions of your dolly build plan? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Great Video Dave, so I have the new LX3310 and BH77 and thinking about doing the same thing to my tractor since I have all the same setup as you except i have the mechanical thumb directly for kubota when i purchase the backhoe, my questions for you is how long did you end up making your hydraulic lines from the cylinder to the rear remote ? would save me having to figure that out :)
  • Hey Dave. Just wondering what model tractor that is in the video. I have an open station LX2610 on the way and was thinking about doing the same thing with the seats but want to make sure there is enough clearance.
  • I've been wanting to add the seat to my bh77 also. I have the LX3310 open station. Would you happen to have the part numbers for the seat, seat mount, and hardware ? Also the number for the straight levers...thank you
  • @woodatuse
Good afternoon, would you have the information on the seat post kit? Looking to get it for my bh77 really good idea. Thank you!
  • @reddivrbob
Great Hydraulic Thumb mod. I've been looking to add to my BH77 also. Where did you get the cylinder and part number?
  • Great setup, I need to build a dolly like that!!! Could you possibly get me some measurements for me? Any changes you would make or are you happy with the setup? Thanks Nick
  • @joeshmo4110
What is the distance between the ground and the bottom part of the stabilizers that rest on the dolly? I think I ordered the same casters as you but they seem to be too tall.
  • Hi Dave, my BH77 is on my new LX3520 -- the pivot pin that hooks into the subframe on the tractor is 16 inches at center. How much clearance should I build the dolly to -- within say 2 inches so dolly height is at 14 inches...just curious as to what you would do. Would I be OK with 10 inch Casters and 3 inches of lumber or would you shim to 14 inches total height?
  • @sth9460
Dave, did you put spacers on the rear wheels and if so, what kind & size spacers? Thanks
  • @andrewmyers7131
I’m not sure anybody really knows about the seat, great for letting us know. Any issues getting the parts from the dealer?
  • @99kevin99
Thanks! Any mods to the thumb control position or the thumb length since 2 years have passed??
