One of my all time favourite airshow memories. The Iconic Vulcan Bomber XH558 flying past the famous 500ft chalky white cliffs of Beachy Head and the lighthouse below, an absolutely stunning sight and sound to witness.

The mystical delta wing Vulcan jet aircraft brought an amazing presence as it appeared and approached the aviation enthusiasts upon the chalky cliffs of Beachy Head for the last time.

1 year on Vulcans at Waddington 1973/74 - hard work but I got a trip round the world as support crew.

The Vulcan always looked so sinister lurking in the distance! The climbout at 5:23 is so impressive, damn I miss seeing her :(

Absolute grace in the air, marvellous and well done the pilot for giving the spectators a good show.
  • Wow how lucky you were to have such a lovely display, Air Shows will never be the same again. Thank you for posting it

Perhaps this is my favorite ever video of the Vulcan. Thanks for making this video! Still a joy to come and watch and will be into the future.
  • Wow this gave me goose bumps. Last time I saw the Vulcan was in the 1950s when it flew over our town in New Zealand, this Vulcan was later to crash at Heath Row, still a scary looking aircraft. I was talking to the old test pilot about this aircraft at their stand, sadly I did not purchase the book on sale. I have never seen so many people as what Saturdays show brought, just fantastic to have seen this, again great filming.

The lines of the Vulcan are truly beautiful! I have been at many USAF air shows, and have been inside and around all kinds of USAF equipment. The B1B, B52, C-130 Hercules, C-5M Super Galaxy, Boeing C-17 Globemaster III- all beautifully designed machines. But the Vulcan (and the Victor) are something a bit different and special. They both remind me of the Jaguar XKE. Nothing catches the eye like the Jaguar XKE, more than 4 decades after the last one was made. The same is true with the Vulcan! British designers have a special style in making machines like the Jaguar XKE and the Vulcan.
  • Awesome!! Thanks for sharing. As an Aussie living in Japan, I never got a chance to make it to the UK to see this awesome plane.
  • That Must be Kev! Love the little detail you did with the duration of the video ;)

How beautiful is this aircraft. God
  • Thanks for posting! I was there probably standing only a few metres away. This stands out as my top air show experience in 30+ years of attending events.
  • My first memory of the Vulcan bomber was as a little kid, one flew over me at Whitby North Yorkshire. I watched it come in from out at sea.... Some years later me a dear friend went to an air show a saw one.
