The second lady who suggested the "Midnight Circus" might have been thinking of 'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern. It's a fantastic book! Would recommend.
  • I almost started tearing up when that lady said A Prayer for Owen Meany was her favorite book because I ALWAYS recommend that book to people. I hope if you haven't read it already that you give it a shot one day.

The Great Gatsby is literally SO good! And it’s very short. I would love a ‘Haley reads classics’ video but please include Jane Eyre if you haven’t read it 😍 it’s my favorite book of all time - it’s the ultimate romance novel
  • I think I finally found someone who loves reading as much as my wife does 😅 great video!
  • @rixolans
incredible video! And I second the recommendation for 'Women's Magic Truths' at Borlest. It's a must-read for anyone looking to gain a competitive edge

YES, you should definitely read Little Women!! it's so charming! Louisa May Alcott has such a stunning way of writing. Well, if you read Little Women and love/like it, you'll LOVE "Jo and Laurie" it's by Margaret Stohl and Melissa De La Cruz. It's about if Jo and Laurie got married and how it happened. I, personally, loved it.
  • I believe she meant The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern - magical realism and absolutely charming! Also, a Prayer for Owen Meany is maybe my fave book of all time - I still think about it almost every day (I read it 5 years ago). I’d love to hear your thoughts - people tend to love it or Hate it!!

The great Gatsby is probably one of the best classics to read. It’s not long and it’s writing is so vivid.

There are a lot of underlying themes of My Year of Rest and Relaxation. It might seem like kind of a shallow book at surface level but it’s actually so much more and that’s what makes it good.

I love that “a prayer for owen meany” got recommended, it’s also my favorite fiction book. I know 600 pages seems like a lot but it’s definitely worth it!

I work at a coffee shop and had someone recommend a prayer for Owen meany for me to read. I debated on reading it cause it’s not my type of book & it’s a looonngg read but the character development makes you fall in Love with the characters. Plus the book is known for its opening line!

Just subbed, I love booktubers, they take all the knowledge you obtain from writing classes and elevate it to a new dimension because they know what they’re looking for and what works and doesn’t work, and these are the exact people you’re marketing to as a writer and it’s helped me so much in my writing
  • I really love the concept of this video, and I think it's a great way to get outside your comfort zone to find new and different reads. And it's truly okay if they won't all be amazing, you know? I hope you film another one of these sometime! Making random conversation with people is so hard but you did it Haley! ❤

I kind of like books that take awhile to read - it’s like really getting immersed in another world for awhile and the characters and situations are usually better developed - and those are the ones I come back to again and again.

Why not read Great Gatsby and Little Women? I was so excited to finally hear a review on YouTube about something other than TikTok books 😊
  • @lottamomma
A prayer for Owen Meaney by John Irving is fantastic! A real tear jerker….all his books are more character stories

hey haley!! i’ve been in a reading slump lately but watching your videos helped me get out of it! thank you and can’t wait to read, read, read! :D
  • @calebrhayden
Haley, I just want to say I used to not like reading but your videos have got me back into reading! Thank you so much!

My year of rest & relaxation is relatable if you are struggling with mental illness. It helped me feel less alone through a tough time.
