***WARNING***This video is made for educational and entertainment purposes only, this is not a recipe video. If you attempt to make this at home you do so at your own risk and we can not be held responsible for any injuries. Making ribbon candy is a dangerous process since such high temperature are used to make it. With that said, for those that are curious and want specifics this is how we make it.

For one full size batch we combine into a copper kettle 14 pounds of corn syrup, 7 pounds of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cream of tartar and 2 quarts of water. We heat it up to 320°F, before turning off the heat and adding in molasses. Then we pour it onto the marble table and cool it down. After it's cooled down enough we start stretching it on the hook to add in air bubbles which turns it from brown to golden. We then flatten it out and cut the ribbon candy into 2 pieces. We pour our peanut butter concoction (1 jar of peanut butter and 2 cups of confectioners/powdered sugar) onto one of the pieces before putting the other piece on top to form a sandwich. Then we just walk it through our fingers and like magic it turns from a ruler into a ribbon! Finally we weight it and bag it up or box it up for you to buy!

Gosh, Silent Steve is an unnerving sight. Everyone is treading lightly, even Terry. And Max trying to make it work.
  • @joy-m.g.6290
When i see Max trying his best on the hook makes me realize how strong Steve is
  • @Littleathquakes
the way he just dumped in the bottle of molasses all pissed off and then stayed radio quiet.

First time I felt uncomfortable watching Steve getting kinda angry.
  • @LWBII00
Geez the tension is so thick in there you could cut it with a dough scraper.
  • I just want to embrace Max in the tightest hug and tell him that he is doing such a great job. He seems to beat himself up a little when things don't go perfectly. :( Candy making is a hard craft! I don't know, I'm just so proud of how far he has came with it. The effort and love put into this candy does not go unnoticed!

Aww Quick Steve looked a bit disappointed with the molasses forgetting to be added in....you should print out and hang a sign with bob Ross’s quote on it “We don’t make mistakes, we have happy accidents” cause that’s what happened and in the end it all turned out great! I’m sure the sign would give everyone a chuckle when things get stressed and tense during the candy making process! 😊

I think Max would be an asset to any business. He's so open to learning and admits when he makes mistakes. A wonderful, hard worker and one day he'll make a patient teacher.
  • Sometimes an accident leads to a discovery. This might be the best batch of molasses candy you ever make.

Craig’s camera handling has grown so much in the last year and a half -two years. I appreciate his daring angles.

Steve treats Max Like his own son I just love this family that was so sweet and I love how Max doesn’t give up He just keeps trying and never gives up
  • @asatorMonster
Never seen quick Steve get upset before. He was pretty quiet lol

I agree with the calming factor of your videos, I started watching you in 2016 when I was recovering from surgery, and going through my divorce in 2017. And speaking for myself, I appreciate the camera angles, love seeing the blob move so slowly.

I think the reason so many people find your videos so soothing is because it's just totally normal. Still fun, but just normal. I could totally understand how someone who has a lot of stress could find solace in watching your channel because even with Terry running into walls, you guys are all pretty laid back. Steve is such a calm and thoughtful guy, how could anyone be stressed watching him work and talk? Also, there may be some who don't have a close connection to their family and just sitting back watching and listening to family banter could be helpful.
  • @nincomboob2
lol steve looks annoyed about the molasses being forgotten poor guy

Do what Almond Roca factory does... sell bags/boxes of rejects. Still delicious even if it's a mutant ribbon!!
