Idk why but for me there's always been something strangely calming and comforting about the thought of being in a safe, enclosed space while something horrid stalks around outside. The sense of security knowing that it can't get to you and it doesn't know you're there... I'm probably really weird for thinking that.

"It all started after 7 PM when I finished my dinner, I started hearing those weird noises outside the cabin. I felt like something was out there for certain, but the fact I couldn't see it out the window was equally more terrifying than knowing SOMETHING was out there with eyes on me. Judging from the sounds it was making it sounded like it was circling the cabin. Just waiting for me to make the mistake of opening a window or a door, so I grabbed my M-16, checked my food stores and just waited the night out. But every minute felt like an eternity, and my foe outside was patient, calculating, waiting for the right moment to strike me when I was most vulnerable...."

Some cool touches: There are no curtains on the windows! There's no part of the cabin that's entirely out of view from the outside. The character is crouching behind the bed in the darkest corner of the room, with the chair slightly blocking one of the windows, which is as good a hiding place as they're ever going to get - and it's still not very good. They've hidden as best they can and they could still be seen at any moment.

Id love to see a more narrative based version of this. Like For the first hour all the sounds are slightly muffled and as time goes on the creatures sounds feet more intense and you hear footprints/hooves on your roof, scratching at the walls and tapping on the glass. It’s been trying to get in for a while and your so paralysed with fear you can’t open your eyes to see what the monster looks like. But it’s ok. It doesn’t seem to know how- The door knob jiggles. And then the sound of the rain becomes crystal clear as your squeaky wooden door is pushed open. Nothing thing happens for a good 5 mins but You refuse to move. And then the rest of the 2nd half is The sound of creaking floorboards and heavy rasping breath getting closer and closer, almost asmr and you lie still as death, confidant it now leans directly over you. Watching as you sleep.
  • Bulletproof glass, reinforced windows, reinforced walls and cold beer. 🎉

For a while, I've searched for an audio that perfectly captured the calm, yet sinister feeling of being alone while something hunts for you outside. The mystery of what could be lurking outside, with the only hints being whatever shriek it gives off. This feels like a distant memory. Like sleeping over at a friend's house in the woods. He is unbothered by the roars outside, so you can only try to follow suit. The only thing I could ask more of, is a bit of variety in the occasional sounds of the unknown, but it's already so perfect. This makes me feel like I'm sleeping in the Appalachian Mountains. Like I'm somewhere, where something doesn't want me to be.

The fact that I have used this multiple times to sleep makes me a little uneasy 😂

“Having my rifle by my side as I sleep brings me a great measure of comfort. Not cause it’ll stop the monster but if the monster breeches the cabin I have the rifle to turn on myself. There are fates worse then death. I still hear the screams of my friends in the darkness when the monster took them”

It's been days since I started living here in this old cabin in the middle of the woods, at night I hear sounds like monsters roaming out there...
  • Call me crazy, but this helped me fall asleep faster than listening to rain fall or other nature sounds

This is so perfect! I adore it! This is horror done correctly! As a viewer, I know I'm completely safe as long as I stay inside the cabin, but I also know I can't stay inside forever as I'll need to resupply food and water eventually! So as the feelings of dread builds up with each passing second, I hear more and more subtle sounds in the background that creep me out! You nailed that feeling of dread! Just perfect! Great job!

I'm imagining the windows are reinforced. And I love the view. Well done!
  • Definitely need the highest power of Ammo, to take out the beasts and ghosts!
