Lyrics

Did you ever want it?
Did you want it bad?
Ohhh, my
It tears me apart
Did you ever fight it?
All of the pain
So much pride
Running through my veins

Bleeding, I'm bleeding
My cold little heart
Oh I, I can't stand myself

And I know
In my heart, in this cold heart
I can live or I can die
I believe if I just try
You believe in you and I
In you and I
In you and I
In you and I

Did you ever notice
I've been ashamed
All my life
I've been playing games
We can try and hide it
It's all the same
I've been losing you
One day at a time

Bleeding, I'm bleeding
My cold little heart
Oh I, I can't stand myself

And I know
In my heart, in this cold heart
I can live or I can die
I believe if I just try
You believe in you and I
In my heart, in this cold heart
I can live or I can die
I believe if I just try
You believe in you and I
In you and I
In you and I
In you and I
In you and I
In you and I
In you and I
In you and I

Maybe this time I can be strong
But since I know who I am
I'm probably wrong
Maybe this time I can go far
But thinking about where I've been
Ain't helping me start

Pink Floyd meets Marvin Gaye meets Leonard Cohen. Brilliant sound.

I'm 71 years old. I love this song . . can listen to it all night long. I wonder how many other "geezers" my age can appreciate this young man's incredible talent.
  • @jb1818.
Saw him live when I was battling heroin addiction and it was like a spiritual rebirth for me and this album helped me get clean. Been sober for a year and and a bit.

Driving my truck cross country and this song brings tears to my eyes. Loneliness on the highway and missing my family. This is pure talent

The guitar is a story in itself. A story of longing and regret and wanting to atone for a mistake made. What a beautiful masterpiece! 2024 and I am still here.

For everyone wanting to skip the boring intro parts, the good stuff starts at 0:01.

‎The intro is so Pink Floydish........ I love it and can't get enough of it!
  • I'm 76 & listen to this everyday. It brings hidden emotions to the surface of my soul.

I smoked some joints with my wife and then we laid down in bed to go to sleep. Lights off and we put earphones and this song came up. All i remember that i was taken to another dimension with an Afterlife vibe. I certainly couldn't feel my body and it somehow felt like I'm in contact with dear friends and relatives who passed away during my lifetime. My wife said that night she was trying to grab my arm, but it felt very cold to her and i wasn't reacting to any kind of touch, she also stated that i was smiling real wide while asleep. Amazing experience
  • Probably one of the most amazing compositions of our time...especially if you've been through it and really know how it feels. 912

This is not a song, it's a journey into incredible beauty, omg, what a genius, This is the kind of talent the world should be celebrating.
  • I'm now 69 years of age and listen to pop and rock and soul music for maybe 60 years. This young man called Michael Kiwanuka with this song has added a masterpiece to my personal list of songs for eternity, thank you Mr Kiwanuka.
  • The power of music is incredible, I don’t know if my tears are happy or sad but, I can feel this song in my bones.
  • @Magpie932
I don't know how I got here, but hi everyone what a pleasure to enjoy with you all.
  • I don’t think many people fully comprehend the level of skill that it takes to execute such a flawless performance. Every unit in this musical group is working in perfect harmony.
  • @darenak9490
How does a song do so much healing...this is just incredible.
  • The opening of this song takes me back to my religious days in church. I haven't had that sort of experience for years. In this heart I can live or I can die. I choose life
