Israelis mourn 19-year-old soldier killed in explosion in Rafah operations

Published 2024-06-11
Mourners attend the funeral of a 19-year-old Israeli soldier in Jerusalem on Tuesday. Israelis came together to pay their respects to the young soldier and his fellow officers saluted Sergeant Almog Shalom's coffin covered by an Israeli flag. He was of one of four soldiers killed Monday in an explosion in the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip. The explosives the Israeli army was using to clear the building were triggered prematurely, causing it to collapse, killing the soldiers and wounding 11.

He is soldier. They are likely to die. Children should not be dying at the hands of an army. This is not a story. Shame on the AP.

And while they mourn this single dead Israeli soldier, they cheer for the deaths of over thirty thousand innocent Palestinians. Neither this soldier nor the tens of thousands of innocents should have died. Free Palestine.
  • I'm actually shocked the AP left the comment section on for this one on, knowing how much the IDF is reviled world wide currently.

Why they crying if they can stop the war but don't want too.
  • @zachhaus8488
These same people cheer over the deaths of their enemies. Where does the moral line draw? Between mourning and cheering? It's disgusting. "Only the dead seen the end of War"
