Not recommended for beginners! but always worth a try.

Today I show you how to make some adult socks, and how to adjust the pattern for your own size. The beginning is simple but it does get fiddly when working the heel, so I recommend my video tutorial on the double crochet foundation stitch here, which is a variation of the stitch used around the heel:
   • How To - Double Crochet Foundation St...

Part 1:    • (crochet) Pt1: How To Crochet Adult S...

The actual size made in this tutorial is for a UK size 6-7 (US size 9 approx.) and I used a 4.0mm crochet hook and a DK/Light worsted weight yarn (yarn weight of 3).

I can’t believe the patience and generosity you possess to bring this tutorial to us mere mortals. I have so appreciated every minute of your tutorial. I have learned where I tend to make mistakes thanks to the superb camerawork and instructions. Many, many thanks for your informative tutorial.
  • I've been crocheting for over 60 years and socks have always been on my "to do" list. I've just completed one sock with your method and have found your tutorial so easy to follow. Previous attempts with other patterns have been very frustrating but your method is very clear, concise and easy to follow. I like the way that you take your time and explain every step along the way. I have written down your instructions as I've worked so that I can keep the pattern on file rather than having to come back to YouTube all the time. There will be many pairs of socks coming off my hook from now on :-) Thank you!

I have never seen a heel done like that. I like it! Thank you for actually showing the sock on your foot so we can see how it really looks.

This ha become my Go To pattern and tutorial for socks. I've made them for friend and family, and although I can remember most of it I still come back for the heel shaping. Thank you so much - by the way, you have such a lovely calm manner and voice

Thank you SO much for your tutorial, especially when it comes to the ankle! It's Christmas Eve and I've been trying to crochet a pair of socks for my Mother. Your tutorial is the ONLY one that makes sense to me. She can thank you for the socks that will be finished in an hour. <3
  • I had this video tucked away in my "Watch Later" list for the longest time because I knew I was going to try crochet one day, and that this project would be the very first one I tried. I finally got my hands on crocheting supplies and gave it a try, and it was a success thanks to your amazing instructions! Thank you so much for getting me started, I will definitely watch more of your tutorials!
  • Beginner to the crotchet world and you made this tutorial a breeze! Thank you :)

I finally was able to make the first sock(still making its partner) in my life! The video is very detailed and no distractions at all. I also love your other videos making crochet flowers. Thank you so much for all the videos!❤

At Last !! You reassured me on my listening comprehension of the English language, though, being French, I don't master this a lot. Apart from the hook of technical terms, I don't understand the video in American, fortunately gestures are often very explicit.... So, your video is very clear and very well designed. I achieved appropriate socks my little size, an adjusted form to my ankle and my calf, so that they hold well on my leg !! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge !! Greetings, Leelou from France (It's a google translation, I hope it's faithful to my opinion.....  ;)   !!)
