"Serene" Pendant Tutorial - Wire Weave Pendant Tutorial for Advanced Beginners

Published 2024-04-26
** NOTE ** To determine that amount of 20 gauge wire you need, measure the distance around the stone with your scrap paper or painter's tape and multiple that number by 3. (In this video, my stone was about 4" around, so I ended up using 12" of wire for this project).

For weaving wire, I usually work from the spool, but I would say to have at least 5 feet of weaving wire set aside for your project.

Happy Weaving!

  • Very lovely design and wonderful tutorial! I not only appreciate your detailed instructions but your taste in designs. While I find some other creators informative, I donā€™t like their designs as much as yours. Thanks for sharing!
  • You made the weaving simple by showing the detailed steps. Thank you.

My goodnessā€¦you do incredibly beautiful pieces. Iā€™m quite new and appreciate the intricacies of your designs. Doubt Iā€™ll ever get near your level of beauty, but do appreciate the tutorials and inspiration..thank you.

Cool! It's a very beautiful piece! If I hadn't see the wrap tutorial before, I would've looked at this and said this is something I could never make. Now I feel more confident in coming up with designs

This is so pretty! With the back being so elegant - it's basically a two sided pendant. I also really like the construction of it where you sandwich the stone into the frame at the very end, it seems like it would be a great way to secure tumbled stones - especially those pesky shiney slippery ones that are a little uneven... Oh! And maybe one could make a pattern with the weaves connecting the two halves of the frame... I'm so excited to go and experiment! Thank you for the inspiration!

I really like the whole design fabrication! It is detailed without diminishing the cabochon. If this is classified as advanced beginner, could you please show intermediate and advanced projects? Great work - thank you for sharing your designs and making these tutorials!!
  • @4pattiw
    So gorgeous front + back!!!

I love your creations and your tutorials! Youā€™re so talented at making it easier for us to make lovely things, and i thank you! Just a question about your wireā€¦could you tell me if it is hard, half-hard, dead soft, etc? I went to the links you provided to order the 20 and 28 gauge but do not know what softness would be appropriate. Thank you for your help and I look forward to learning from you. šŸ„°šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ˜

This is a great tutorial... I just have a question about how the Blue tape markings help you know where to start your weave in regards to the wire. My cab is larger. So do I hold the beginning of the wire at the first marking to the left and start my weave at the middle marking. I hope my question makes sense 2:34
  • @nubianviolet
6:04 I also messed up at this part... I started the weave from the first line to the middle. Can I still continue the weave from flipping the frame over and continuing. The only thing where I stopped the weave is with the coil. Do I need to continue with the 2 and 2 weave down and start the new weave with a new wire. Also Do you cut the 28 g wire from the original weave, if so how long of a tail do you leave. Sorry for all the questions. Just trying to get it right.

My stone is 4.5 cm by 3.5cm. What length would you recommend for this size šŸ˜Š
