  • imagine watching this 11 years later and wondering why our society is still the same
  • This kind of reminds me of when I was in the 6th grade in 1978 or 1979. We had this mean and very strict teacher. There was a new girl from Vietnam . She was always quiet and very shy. There were 2 kids behind her teasing her. The girl walked to the teachers desk crying - full of tears. The teacher told her to go to the restroom and wash her face. Once the girl left the teacher screamed at the 2 bullies saying "How dare you pick on that poor girl... " She then yelled at all of us about how we should be more welcoming to people from other countries and how many of them have it rough to try to learn a new language and start a new and better life. At the time I didn't put 2 and 2 together to think about the Vietnam war just 4 years from then. Looking back the teacher was strict...but she wasn't mean.

The acting is effortlessly immaculate...and the whole scene is absolutely beautiful...

That little girl oml we need her in our lives
  • Moral of the story: Always make fun of your teacher. Its brings everyone together. :D

When they threw that milk at Joseph and he flinched, that broke my heart so much that I cried. That poor little sweet child. imagine how SCARY it must be to start a new school (late) and you're THE ONLY person of a different color in that school/class. It just breaks my heart. That boy was adorable and played his part so well.

It's beautiful how hazel tries to solve the porblem in the opening scene and ends up solving the whole thing in the end. This deserves all the attention. Such a good representation!

this was 2009??? And I'm watching this 2021 i watched this 11 years later (edit) I love you all 😘❤️thx for the likes
  • What a great teacher, let them bond together, by making fun of her, keeping Hazel’s tell-tale quiet at the right time.
  • This Short film made me cry. This kid had to watch his father die in front of him. Those flashbacks while he was laughing reminded him of his father. This is so eye-catching! I love this so much! Thank you for this short film :D! Please don't give up on the hard work. Appreciate it God bless
  • Crying and laugh at same time. Especially the part when Joseph smile and remember his father.
  • I was sad for the new boy, of course, but I'm stricken my how accurate this is when it comes to friendship. Little boys have a knack for "fighting it out" and becoming friends afterwards. It's so interesting.

Thank you. That wasn't a film; it was an experience i will never forget for so many reasons.

Joseph has faced "the worst" in his home country, to move further back he has nothing but the wall. Hence, he handles everything much peacefully, a rugged behavior - only when needed. Great short!
  • As children we forget how anyone did wrong to us .. so easily . Both parties forgive each others wrongdoings so easily. I don't know how we lose that as adults.

Such a special short story. I love how this was not about political agendas or racism in this movie. Beautifully refreshing.

Big ups to the teacher for recognizing that tensions have eased
