UK: Migrants in the Channel | ARTE.tv Documentary

Published 2024-07-28
It's a new, tragic and little-known phenomenon in the UK: migration back to the continent. Some migrants who crossed the Channel illegally, making dangerous crossings in small boats are now trying to cross the sea in the other direction, desperate to leave a country where their asylum applications are pending, and they are stuck in legal limbo.

England didn't abandon you, you abandoned your country, and family to seek a fantasy better life. Leave.
  • @MZig-rw7su
Only another 6 million migrants to leave and the UK will be back to normal again....Hurry up !
  • @RR-jz2up
Everybody's fed up with illegal immigration.
  • @tryaluck
That guy who left the hotel he was living in clearly thought he would get a house if he was homeless. Some of these migrants are so self centered, it's all about what they can get out of this country. He was in a hotel but that wasn't enough for him, he even said that he was told to come to the UK "they will give you blah blah". They don't give a damn that people born in this country get far less help than they do,and tax payers money is being used to help these ungrateful people instead of helping our own People.
  • "Abandon all hope, you who enter herein !" As it should be for illegal immigrants. Keep giving them a reason / a hope to come and they`ll never stop comming.

"England has abandoned us", no one told you to come there. How can a country abandon you, if let you in, into their country? And "I was thinking I was gonna get my own home, my own room, my own flat. I'm gonna get a job, I'm gonna get a licence, I'm gonna get a nice life", please, so many people in England don't even have this, and if we count whole Europe, there are a ton of people living in poverty and can only dream of this. England does the right thing here, and I wish that european countries would do the same. Also wtf, they cut open a lorry, because they want to get in there? That's a frikkin crime and they don't even care. I was hoping that the camera man calls the police at this moment and not does this too.
  • You can't escape from the infinite abyss of inner dissatisfaction with boats

It's stunning to hear that chap say that the UK let them down... the sheer audacity ....
  • @wmr9019
You got that wrong about the hotels they are in 4 and 5 star hotels while 22,000 UK army veterans are homeless!!! They all need to go home the lot of them, no more of this telescopic philanthropy it doesn't wash

Wow one return to france while 150,000 stay at taxpeyer expense.
  • @skyrimwarrior
if they want to leave for France, the country should pay for their tickets to leave for France.
  • @itk2493
No sympathy, they were not invited.
  • @jansmarco7842
why don't they go to those super rich middle east countries??
  • France is a lovely place, come on Labour government give them boats to go back?

WHO PAYS FOR THE IPHONES WITH THE APPS ???????
  • @Savi3_1
Don't let them in. We lost our home to them. Today when we recite our plight, our own people dismiss us in disbeleif. We gave them shelter and buildings to open shops a 70 years ago. Now they have pushed us out of our own land.

Wow, not even locals can have all these people are dreaming of. My own country does not owe me anything! I have to work just to survive or work twice as much. Life is tough everywhere. You come to Europe with dreams, irrational expectations. Work on your education first and then apply for a visa or try to find a job in construction, but don't expect to become a citizen. Europe is struggling with overcrowding, has a huge problem with immigration and struggles to maintain its identity. Expect to be either rejected or in limbo. Learn about you destination before you decide to come.
