BFP 3: Blood and Jungle
Blood and Jungle sends players into the Pacific Theater of Operations, fighting through jungles, swamps, kunai and other treacherous terrain. For all of you who have been longing for some great, new PTO ASL action, Blood and Jungle was made for you! And if you've put off playing PTO, now is your chance to dive in headfirst and experience some of the best we've produced to date.

The size of this product is unprecedented by any other module, magazine, or scenario pack. This product was in development for over 8 years, and the scenarios - yes, all 47 of them - were thoroughly playtested. There is a wide variety of actions from all over the PTO including the wood-covered hills and plains of China, the jungles and villages of Burma, Borneo and the Philippines, the bloody beaches of Tarawa, and many other locations throughout southeast Asia and the Pacific.

Blood and Jungle includes the following:

47 Action-Packed Scenarios.
4 full sheets of counters, depicting more units, weapons, vehicles, and planes that are depicted in the scenarios.
The first ever double-wide 16"x22" geomorphic mapboard. This map represents a large urban area, made up of buildings and huts. (BFP DW‑1) This is actually printed in two 8"x22" sections on heavy card stock.
One 8"x22" geomorphic mapboard, printed on heavy card stock, depicting a port village on a river. (BFP G)
Huge magazine with articles on tactics, histories, units, countries, tank hunters, etc.
Rules pages describing new terrain counters, vehicle listings/notes, and special units.
A divider card with new unit capabilities and terrain counter notes.
Ownership of the following Advanced Squad Leader© components are required to play all 47 of the included scenarios: Nationalities - Americans, Japanese, British, French, Russians, Chinese, Allied Minors, and Axis Minors; Boards - 2, 7, 10-12, 14-18, 22, 25, 32-40, 42-43, 47-51, b, d, u, v, and BRT.

I like the randomness of a para drop in ASL scenarios....Thanks for posting

Airfield: An area of land set aside for the takeoff, landing, and maintenance of aircraft. Those parking pads are definitely part of the airfield. Rule #1 is to not read stuff into the rules. You assumed the designer meant Runway instead of airfield. If he wanted Runway, he could have used Runway. Don't read stuff into the rules, my man. ASL is hard enough as it is. Great BFP module - thanks for giving it exposure.

Scenario looks really interesting. Japanese paradrops are not your typical ASL.
  • What is the best way to find what symbols like that mean at 32:58 ? the nationality section of the big book? or where would I look for that

SSR communication with opponent 47:50 -- excellent point, also -- esp discuss the victory conditions as you mention. some of these victory conditions are ambiguously worded especially in 3PP scenarios and this can lead to some diversion in understanding -- you don't want to find this out later on in the game.

Thanks for the video. Looks fun! Still, I wonder when MMP or someone besides HoB (Kreta) is going to make a runway that is realistically long? What's the problem? The width isn't bad (should be two hexes side by side for 50M wide) -- but the length is the problem -- 1000M at least, or about 25 hexes long would still be shorter than average. I guess we could pretend these hexes are 100m instead of 40m. Now, I'm sure someone is going to comment that 400m runways were done, okay, but that doesn't mean that every ASL scenario with an airfield should be restricted to this. Stew -- EC are -1 so no kindling for you in this one nyah nyah! 🤩but if you're attacking, this is a good thing!
