Out-of-state officers shot and killed a man wielding two knives just blocks away from the Republican National Convention (RNC) in Milwaukee, sparking controversy and anger among local residents. According to police reports, the incident occurred when officers, who were patrolling on bikes, encountered the armed man.

Body camera footage released by the police shows the officers conversing before one of them alerts, “He’s got a knife.” The situation escalated rapidly as several officers began shouting “Drop the knife!” while running towards two men standing in the street. The footage reveals that the armed man moved towards the unarmed man, prompting the officers to open fire.

The incident has raised significant questions about the presence and actions of out-of-state officers in a local neighborhood, especially given its proximity to the convention site, which was about a mile away.
