Imagine telling someone you enjoy Mountain Bread, them thinking that you're a lover of the outdoors and baking fresh bread on treks and hikes and what-not, but really you're just hollowing out baguettes and pouring in Mountain Dew as a snack. That's a prime Story Time with Matt inspired plot twist.

I've spoken to Slavic Magic a few times, he was the solo dev on the game for a long time (he's since gotten a little bit of help from Hooded Horse). The man is brilliant, and cares DEEPLY about making the game not feel like just Age of Empires meets Total War meets City Builder. Even down to the authenticity of the equipment and architecture, which is ~1370's-1400 in western Germany and along the Rhine. And it was done like 90% by a single person!

3:04: Technically, oxen are cows. At least as far as "cow" being the colloquial term for all cattle (the actual animal name). A "cow" is a female head of cattle, whereas a male is a "bull" if intact and a "steer" if castrated, and "oxen" are cattle that have been trained to work, or "ox" if just one. Fun fact: there is no universally agreed-upon singular for cattle, so "one head of cattle" is typically used as "one cattle" is grammatically incorrect. Or just "one cow" because we all call them all cows anyways. Point being that ox = cow. 🎶The More You Know

Cuntz is probably a variation of Kunz (which is short for Konrad), which was such a common name in the medieval ages that "Hinz und Kunz" (Heinrich and Konrad) became a saying, meaning bascially everybody or any number of people. Kunz is actually still fairly common as a last name in Switzerland.
  • Matts editors seem to have been given near free reign, yknow except leaving the basement
  • Tip! (Just to give you anguish) You can rename just about almost everything, check it out! But for a real tip, Burgages(houses) are recommended to be built when thay have a little house marker with a +, that mean they can get addittions/upgrades, there should be an upgrade for them to have chickens, they produce food for your settlement?/village?/town?

Triangular living plots is the most architect decision I’ve seen Matt make
  • @mikesheahan6906
Those triangle properties look like something an architect might find exciting.

"Where are all these bandits coming from!? I hate all these bandits. Oh a bandit camp was sighted! Let's leave them be. Anyway, let me disband this army."
  • @Large_Sarge
I hate to be that guy but Manscaped requires a subscription for blades refills to keep your warranty for the trimmers. If you cancel the subscription to their blades, they reduce your warranty to only 90 days versus a year. Just a heads up. Thanks for the content.

I assume Matt gives his editors the same kind of priority list where everything is the highest priority.
  • @Qantravon
0:50 surprised Matt didn't go for the very strongest-shaped helmet he picked right at the beginning.
  • Did you know: the terms underdog and top dog come from people working in a saw pit. The person on top of the log was top dog and the one in the pit was the underdog
  • @droogkloot666
Paddy with the zoomies in the background is amazing :)
  • @darkgtprince
those trees are amazing. love when devs put in details like that. great work dev!
