This is part of Shihan Alejandro Ivan Serralles Sagalowitz's traditional Japanese Jujutsu class in the Defense Center dojo in Santo Domingo.

After some pulling and tugging, I go in and try to unbalance Hector for a unsuccessful Osoto Gari. Next, I thoroughly embarrass myself with a senseless takedown attempt by turning away, which is promptly used by Hector to gain the top position.

We end up in half guard, and Hector tries to position his hands for a choke, which I annoyingly (for him) keep blocking. I try and turn him over next, but my leg is trapped, so he gets back on top, but now on my full guard.

He starts wrapping my ankle for an ankle lock, which I try to turn into a Juji Gatame (armbar) but he slips his arm out. Hector, in a fantastic display of improvisation, crankes up my leg, which I escape by rolling over. In the aftermath, Hector goes for the ankle lock again, I try to stop it by hanging to his jacket, and finally get the armbar.

@droman30 Thank you for your comments droman30. The dojo is in a small commercial mall in downtown Santo Domingo. It's perfect- conveniently located, but allows us to practice in privacy too. The mats are not fixed because they are used individually for other disciplines during the day. It's annoying at first, but we get used to it. If you're ever in Santo Domingo, please stop by!

Beautiful looking club. Is that at someone's house? Too bad you guys don't have a way to keep the mats together.
