In this video I will give you the full and over-exaggerated explanation about Kopa.
Kopa was the son of Simba in the books "The Lion King: Six New Adventures".
Nowadays he is called "the lost son of Simba" because he doesn't appear in any of the movies and there are a lot of theories all around.

  • They should make a movie called The Lion King, Kopa The Lost Prince Of The Pride Lands
  • @mysryuza
Askari: Kopa is not canon and explains why. Some Kopa fans: HE IS CANON CUZ BOOKS AND CARDS SAY SO
  • @iliketodraw8048
The reason Simba was so overprotective of Kiara is because when he let Kopa travel alone he was “killed” by Zira. (He was actually in a coma)

To be honest they can add Kopa into the Lion King canon no problem. They clearly don't mind retcons like the Lion Guard or the magic roar, so why not add Kopa's story as the reason Simba was over protective of Kiara. Now with Disney Plus they can go a little more in depth and mature with stories and ideas. They can make it so Zira 'killed' Kopa when in actuality he was still alive but taken downstream in a nearby river, he's healed by someone but has amnesia with the exception of his name. They could make a Lion King 3 with Kopa's return as an adult, not sure on the antagonist but they could something with it. Maybe make it so Simba sacrifices himself to save Kopa, making him a parallel to Mufasa. The difference being he got to see his children grow to be mature adults during life, something taken from Mufasa by Scar. Kopa is offered the king title but refuses since he's still kinda new to the Pridelands technically. Also Kopa and Vitani get together, the story potential is too high to pass up.
  • @Versada42
Finally someone else who noticed how the fluff on her tail folds onto her head like Kopa
  • The scene where Zira offers Kovu to Simba DOES have a reason behind it. It’s made pretty obvious that trespassing into the Pridelands results in death, which is exactly what Zira and Kovu were doing at that time, and Zira stood up for Kovu because he didn’t know, but knowing how adamant Simba is with tradition and punishment, she offered up Kovu anyway to see if he would really do it, even though she knew he absolutely could not
  • Tbh let’s leave kopa as canon cause just thinking about Zira killing him is just sad
  • @isaiahadams1208
I say Zira did kill Kopa in cold blood. Cause that pretty much explains why Simba was so overprotective of Kiara and hates Zira & the Outsiders (aside from the fact that they’re Scar’s followers)
  • If kopa was not missing he would be king then Kiara would become the leader of the lion guard now that I think about it

Finally someone who is smart enough to figure out Kopa isn’t cannon, although he sounds like an interesting character.
  • There are actually old cards that Disney made and on one card it says Simba’s Son and it shows a cub next to Simba and Nala who looks like Kopa.
  • @dakotaenloe8035
I think Kopa is canon, they just never mentioned or shown him. The cub at the end of the first movie was definitely not Kiara or Kion. My theory, is that Kopa survived Zira's attack, but lost his memory in the process, remembering only his name. Maybe he didn't recognize the mark but met kion anyway. Unless Kopa eventually did remember and no longer wanted anything to do with his past. Deciding it was better if everyone thought him dead. The pridelands wouldn't need him because of future queen Kiara, plus no longer feeling like he belonged there anymore. Who knows?
  • Its not canon unfortunately, even though Kopa was apart of the stories, the stories where not 100% disney just signed by them. As for why it was diffrent, Lion king 2 wasent even being thought about at the time. So it just simply wasent planned.
  • Well Everything happens for a reason beacause at least someone new about kopa while they were making lion king 2
  • @martinacaffrey1
I think they didn't show the clip because it was harsh for kids anyone agree?
  • @tayl2991
Kopa is not canon! Yes, Simba and Nala's cub at the end of the original movie is clearly male, and at the end of the novelization of the remake, it says Simba's son, but Simba's cub is female- Kiara
