  • I love how Dr. Bikman thinks through his answers and is so clear and precise. He stays on topic and is genuinely there for the knowledge and science. I can imagine all his students love his teaching style.
  • Yes! It’s driven me crazy that what is NO temptation in AM, is so difficult to pass by after dinner. I thought it was just me and my ‘weakness’
    🥰 thank you DrB.

The saddest part to me is that our children are being raised with this fast food, they look like adults and have all the prediabetic signs. They don’t have happy childhoods, and the parents look the same, very sad. I enjoyed this conversation he is very informative.

This is what I've been latched on to for a few weeks since I first heard of hyperinsulinemia. As a diabetic, this is so important. I lost my mother over Thanksgiving. As a direct result, my body lost control of sugar. I ended up in critical care at the local hospital with sugars close to 1000! I've had to be on an IV drip of insulin and very high amounts since then. But I've got to make changes to fix this. My health has to come back.
  • Being mixed Asian and European, this helped me understand a lot why my body is like this. I started fasting last Oct 2022, 16-24 hours, and I'm loving it. I find that if I eat proteins and fats more it makes it so easy for me to fast longer. But when I start eating rice, I tend to crave sugary food and it makes it so hard for me to go beyond 16 hours. Thank you so much. I learned a lot from this.
  • I live alone and love breakfast...so begin my fasts at 1 PM. This works well for me and my insulin resistance. I also notice the sleep improvement is amazing! I rarely have dinner plans with others, but can flex for the rare time it does occur. Instead I invite friends to breakfast or lunch.
  • Hi from Germany. We are Even five to six years behind. Thank you for marching in front. Learning so much by everyone of you💙
  • Dr Ben Bikman rocks - I do recall him saying in a previous podcast the best way to break a fast is with 2 boiled eggs a little salt and glass of water - I have that most days together steamed asparagus or other greens as part of my first meal of the day
  • Ben is spot on with eating too late leads to overindulging and snacking after meal because the food hasn't hit. Made me smile :)

It took me forever to get to a 36 hour fast but man oh man, when my digestion got a real rest once a week I started feeling great.
  • I’ve been dealing w/ insulin resistance since I was a kid!😢 This video couldn’t be more SPOT ON! Tust me … lol. Insulin resistance is a MONSTER. Can’t shut my eyes…because it will rear its ugly head! It’s my nightmare. Fast fast fast… out run that S.O.B! Lol. Earlier meals are key. MY BOOK “FAST LIKE A GIRL” IS ARRIVING TODAY💙🙌

I loved the interjection of the social aspects of eating that are often overlooked but often is what drives our eating habits. We are busy in the morning if we have a family or a workout routine then to work it is a coffee and a muffin. But lunch is the office team is all walking down to the café down the street. Dinner we have kind of earned a sit down and unwind feeling with a dessert for a job well done.
  • I absolutely appreciate what he said about wanting to eat dinner because he wants to spend time with his family! I feel the same way and agree 100% with this. Family dinners are so important! ❤

I find any talk or interview with Ben Bikman so valuable. Great interview!!
  • As a keto carnivour I find eating one big meal a day in a 1 hour window very easy. With no carb input I have no insulin spike and go 23 hours a day without any cravings or need to snack. Some days I go 27 hours some 19.

I find it so interesting how different we all are. My natural rhythm has me stopping eating by about 2 in the afternoon. But I get up early around 4:30-6 and wake up hungry and ready for food. I've been like that for a long time (before keto, before fasting). I don't have temptations and cravings at night - mine come at 10am. Which, in an office, is a danger zone with bagels, donuts, etc. I'm also a long distance runner and run in the early morning. New to keto & IF - as a way to mitigate risk of AD as I'm an APO4 carrier.

I find that if I eat a late lunch like 2:30-3pm, I can skip dinner. But I agree it’s tough socially to skip dinner. Also, I have trouble sleeping if I don’t eat dinner.
  • 24:32 YES! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌 my husband gets so offended when I talk to him about this… it can lead to arguments lol. he’s a gym rat /weight lifter…but I feel he doesn’t want to believe what I’m saying😞 I get he needs to eat more but he’s eating the minute he’s opening his eyes until he goes to bed…he’s healthy keto 5 years. Both of us strict & clean keto. I’m worried he’s not letting his liver & pancreas take a rest😟
