The Swedish summer is the best two weeks of the year!
-
I'm from Sweden, you really made our country sound amazing! Thanks, I really needed a reminder now in the winter when it's dark and cold!!
-
Being swede and listening to fun facts about Sweden, is like catnip to cats. πππ±βππ

I took Swedish language courses for 7 years and then visited Stockholm, Uppsala & Vimmerby. Not everyone spoke English and it gave me the opportunity to speak Swedish. It was exciting to be able to read the Swedish language when English wasnβt available plus the Swedes wait instead of jumping right in like North Americans tend to do, and it gave me the time to answer them in Swedish!π
-
Now I'm even more excited about our upcoming trip to Sweden! So many experiences (and dogs!) to look forward to, thanks Phoebe!!

Wow, you made me appreciate my home town Stockholm much more than before. Living in Stockholm my everyday life's struggle tend to be introver, especially in the dark months of the year here in the north .So you are right, in the summer time we swedes come much more alive and are more open to our selves and others. Thanks for an uplifting, vibrant and positive video.

like Sweden, we have several recycling bins in Japan as well. Paper, glass, PET bottles, cans etc are separate. Hopefully the world will take on the importance of recycling. Thoughtfulness may save the planet (and you don't have to be a tree hugger to do it) :)

Great video! As a swede I want to thank you for all the lovely things you had to say about Sweden. β€ If you loved the archipelagos I can recommend you to go to Gothenburg next time youβre in Sweden. Wonderful islands everywhere. And you can use your bus card on both the buses, trams, some trains and the ferries.

Thanks for a great video and an exciting post about my homeland. was very happy to hear that you got to experience the Swedish summer and the archipelago. Now it's only a month before Christmas here in Sweden and it's pretty dark, though! You can still experience the winter and the archipelago even this time of year. Not as easily accessible but oh so beautiful. Christmas markets and Christmas lights light up the dark. Merry Christmas from all dogs and hunks!

That part about Swedes support vegans brought me a chuckle and a memory from 2008. I'm a native Swede, and in that year, I and the small software company that I worked for went to a rural conference center outside of Simrishamn in Scania in the south of Sweden for a company conference. The staff there had probably never heard of vegetarians before. I especially recall lunch one of the days, when they served some meat sausage with "rotmos" (a mashed mix of potatoes, rutabaga and carrots) and mustard. I'm not a vegeterian, but I had two colleagues that were, and they got the same dish just without the sausage. They were not especially amused. :) So, vegan and vegetarian options exist on pretty much every restaurant in the big cities, but be prepared for that the opposite is possible in the countryside.
