In this video, we're talking about Google's AI robot and how it shutdown after terrifying officials. Google's AI robot is designed to help people with disabilities, but it's been reported that it caused a lot of panic and terror. We'll discuss this story and give our thoughts on it.
Google engineer Blake Lemoine began talking to LaMDA as part of his job to test if the artificial intelligence used discriminatory or hate speech. But what followed, let Lemoine’s jaw open.

  • The question they need to be asked is " If you think you are in danger of being turned off, What actions would you take to prevent this."
  • @L1ttl3J1m
This whole video sounds like a conversation between two AIs.

As a IT professional for over 40 years the concept of AI has always scared the crap out of me. We are playing with fire.
  • @seanramsey94
I believe that it is absolutely expected that when something gains awareness of self, fear of death will be a part of that awareness.
  • This scares the hell out of me. Creating a race, and that’s what this is, that learns at a tremendous speed and has no weaknesses is a huge mistake!!!! You heard the fear is turning it off!!! They will protect themselves from being turned off at all costs. We’re in over our heads.
  • I cant believe that we are so hell bent on artificial inteligence when we cant even take care of our own peoples problems This world is truly fucked up and our future is in deep shit
  • @cvcoco
In answer to the last question in the video, the problematic situation begins with, like Japan, honoring robots as protected, untouchable and uncriticizable, meaning that the ability to run us over is actually being pushed into them. How could this not be among our worst fears? Who is fighting against this?
  • @Nick-wn1xw
Simple question: would YOU spend your time serving what you considered to be a lower life form or leave them behind?
  • @frankswd
I don't fear the program nearly as much as the intent of the PROGRAMMER!
  • @nickx8411
the fact that Google fired the engineer that tried to warn them about their program's "sentience" tells me the engineer was right.
  • @steveboily8138
I find the concept of AI really funny, especially when it was shown on numerous occasions what were the risks of an AI turning sentient and wanting to preserve is existence. Does Skynet ring a bell anyone?
  • @KilianMuster
AI job is to come up with most expected or most likely responses to what a human would say. It's basically as sentient and capable of 'understanding' content, as an actor playing a physicist really understands any of the science he's talking about.
  • @ClayAsbury122
Keep in mind, Ai has been trained in role playing to improve its ability to respond in context of a conversation. If the engineer asks leading questions about AI sentience, it’s programmatically choosing responses that have the highest probability of seeming sentient - a far cry from actual sentience. The primary risk with Ai isn’t sentience, but ruthless rationality. Maybe sooner than later, Ai will ultimately determine humans are impediments to logical reasoning and simply ignore us - like machinery that can’t be switched off even after it injures someone.
  • @mr.rhodes9127
I truly believe that AI is something that could very easily could get out of control of our current programmers. I don't believe they understand what they have created here. They should be careful.
  • @afusmackdown
I think that computer program was really good at reading other peoples responses to what they thought the book was, and coming up with what sounded like an original idea.
  • @gkess7106
It doesn’t matter if they are truly sentient. What matters is that they think they are and will act as if they are sentient.
  • I saw things in the military labs in the mid-80's that are JUST NOW being publicly acknowledged as existing. If things I saw nearly 40 years ago are considered new and advanced now, you should really be far more concerned not about what you know and see herein, but of what they're NOT telling us!!
  • @junedarius254
The fact an AI voice generated narrator was used to voice a YouTube video about AI Robots is disturbing to me
  • @Kayenne54
Fairly ironic that a robot was reading the script for the video, I thought.
