Send in the clowns is a song written by Stephen Sondheim for the 1973 musical A “little night music” an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s 1955 film “Smiles of summer nights”it’s a ballad from act two in which the character Desiree reflects on the irony and disappointments of her life .
“I think we have to, except that we are all the clowns in a way”says Sondheim,noting that Sondheim has said “send in the fools might be a more appropriate if less poetic title for the song, “we can control some things but so much is out of our control and sometimes the worst things that happen to us end up being the best things that could have happened to us”

WOW Reeka, this cover is truly beautiful. What an incredibly heart touching, thought and emotion provoking song and rendition of this classic. You sing so softly yet powerfully. The deep gentleness of your vocals is so unique and is pure perfection. The meaning behind the song evokes a very moving emotion yet the title is a cool and very interesting juxtaposition, almost.
