Had a good chuckle about this when I rewatched a couple months back. The way the NVGs are just haphazardly in particularly made me laugh. Just a few grands worth of gear rolling about, unprotected.

They’re required to mess up uniforms or else they’ll be liable for impersonation.

In Crysis 2 Marines use ACU style MARPAT Style uniforms.

Maybe this was a universe where UCP never existed and the army issued a camouflage that actually works in the desert

By regulation, stars always face forward, which means if a soldier is only issued a forward facing flag patch, they would then wear it on the left arm, which makes it correct in this case. One example is 173rd Airborne Brigade during the early invasion of Iraq, in which, the unit received forward facing flags and they wore it on the left arm. Unit patch on the right arm is a deployment patch, which means she was attached to 101st during a deployment at some point, it doesn’t necessarily mean she is currently a member of the unit (even if you’re wearing your flag patch on left arm, you still wear your current unit patch on the left).
