I hope that this is addressed in some way in the movie. While Branch's brothers of course couldn't have known that Rosiepuff would meet an untimely end, the feeling of abandonment combined with the grief of losing his grandmother had to have weighed heavy on Branch.

PLEASE...MY HEART CAN'T TAKE THIS!! 😭😭😭I hope this is portrayed somehow in the movie too! Of course his brother's couldn't have known Grandma Rosiepuff's fate and I feel with a lot of emotions going on in the atmosphere at the time, they left without thinking and acknowledging how Branch felt... I'm sure they somehow realized it along the way but felt too guilty to go back...😢
