It's especially true if your partner is actually a narcissist. But what exactly is a narcissist? The word "narcissist" is often used to describe people who are self-centered and lack empathy. But it's important to recognize that narcissistic personality disorder or NPD is an actual mental health condition. And it's a disorder that can present significant challenges for those affected, as well as the people around them. It can also strain their relationships with others. That being said, some individuals may display narcissistic traits without an official NPD diagnosis. Those traits can include constantly seeking praise and admiration, an exaggerated sense of self-importance, exploiting others without shame or feeling guilty about it, creating an imaginary world to boost their ego, feeling entitled, disregarding the needs of others, dominating conversations or meetings, and engaging in demeaning or bullying behavior. To make things more complicated, people with narcissistic tendencies are often extra sensitive to getting feedback. They may react with anger, for example, when confronted or when they feel ignored or dismissed. But what most people don't know is that these so-called narcissists can also use food to manipulate their victims. Often, they do it to their lovers. So, if you believe you're with a narcissistic partner, make sure to keep watching this video. You'll discover the five sneaky ways narcissists use food as a weapon against you. And if everything checks out, you need to really think about whether staying with them is worth it or not.

It's not a mental health problem it's a personality disorder. But with narcissism there's also mental health problems in there two.

My ex narcissist would have me always order first at the restaurant and then he would specifically order obvious healthier foods to make sure I looked like the slob. If I ordered a burger and fries he would order grilled fish, broccoli and salad with no dressing. It became a regular occurrence. But when I wasn't with him he would tell me about all the fatty food he would eat. Fast food breakfasts and entire pecan pies. I was convinced it was purposely.

My parents would use food against us a lot. I thought we were just poor and figured my contribution is not eating too much, but they were just being jerks. We'd go days without eating and then our parents would take us to the buffet and invite family, and the whole time they'd be talking shit about how much we're eating and how we're fat. It was pretty crappy, I'd be trying to eat a weeks' worth of food, not realizing most people do not eat this way. My dad had once addmited he would not feed us sometimes because if he did we'd just "run around and ask a lot of questions." I also wanted to date someone and they'd invite me to meals, but they'd have me wait until my blood sugar crashes, and then let me eat. I would say 'its too late', meaning my sugar level has crashed so i'm done for the day, but they would interupt it is as "oh, he's being bossy and wants me to cook faster." They also later admited that they prefer me not eating becauset then I'd 'calm down' and sit on the couch instead of wanting to go out and do things.
  • If he cooked, he would serve my food on a dessert plate and his on a dinner plate.

I never want to live with a Narcissist. I like to eat healthy food and the way I like to not the way they want me. I only eat what I need to stay healthy and stay home and and enjoy my own compamy unless its with Tesla and family. I don't like being told what to do with my life. Sit down and talk with me about things, don't demand from me. I learned my manners at the table and and wherever I go. They sure like to ruin everything because they are not happy with themselelves. Deprive you of what you need. It all about them. I work for my food and everything buy. They don't buy it for me. I suppor myself. don;t ever tell me what I can eat and do. You don't support me.

  • I always discerned there was something toxic about my spouse and food, him giving silent treatment then bring food as a weapon to draw near me but made it always seem questionable was straining my mental health to wonder what his intentions were, BUT NOT TODAY SATAN, Im praying God protect me from the things I can not see! Thanks for this understanding!
