I am about to do this in hallway, love how easy you make it. Gonna go buy the tool asap before project . Thank you
  • A pro tip I learned years ago, if you add +0.5-+1 degree to your outside cuts and -0.5-1on inside cuts, this will allow the points to meet first and with some pressure, they'll flex into a perfectly flush fit. You will also want to calibrate your mitre saw's mitre gauge using that protractor as your reference since most saws aren't perfectly calibrated/square either. Always best to stick to one measuring tool unless you're dealing with precision instruments
  • Quick little pro tip for ya. I like what I see just if you are using the saw for a lot of cuts try to not flip the baseboard to the back side. Doing this can chip out the outter spot of the baseboard. Instead flip it upside down.

You are an amazing teacher! Keep it coming...

Good tips. My added tip... make sure your miter saw is adjusted and working properly before you rely on the angle scale & detents, as well as cutting perfect 90 degrees horizontal & vertical when returned to its "home" position. It will and does get knocked out of position, especially portable saws.

Awesome instructions! Thank you... Now, I'm ready to install my baseboards.
  • I need to install over 400 linear feet of 5½" square baseboards. Finish carpenters are quoting $70-$80 per hour to install. I've installed baseboards before but the miter cuts have always caused me trouble. Now I see why. Thanks for the video tips fo this DIYer!
