This is a song about making it through tough times by standing up to control whether that control is by the government, corporations, or other entities that attempt to supress and oppress the people.

"Make It Through" started on guitar as a composition.

Once I added a keyboard beat to the composition, I started writing lyrics.

I was inspired by government control and how we need to stand up and challenge the status quo no matter how hard it is or can be.

"Make It Through" is about the feeling of being on your own or feeling like you're on your own in what you see, or believe, what is happening in society in present day.

It feels like we are the only one who can really see what is truly going on when nobody else can see.

People then think you are crazy for not being like everyone else when you try to tell them that something is wrong in society.

The refrain of "Make It Through" is about that.

Verse 1 is about the world changing in a way that you feel isn't right which causes you to, then, believe that the world has gone wrong but it wasn't up to you for why it went that way.

I was inspired by protesters and demonstators opposing decisions being made by the government for example and if people challenge the government, or similar entity, they will be cast aside or sent to jail for their challenges of those decisions made.

In Verse 2, I was inspired by COVID-19 measures and how certain governing bodies need some sort of an excuse to control the population.

COVID-19 was that such event which allowed the government to keep people in their homes while the virus was running a muck.

The government can't control the people otherwise without some sort of event because it will spark chaos in the country.

I was heavily inspired by that.

The bridge of "Make It Through" was inspired by the aftermath of the pandemic whereby we were not the same after the control measures were lifted and that we became paralyzed as a result.

We are not to blame for these changes and must rise above to fight for our rights and to continue to fight so that we are not suppressed, or oppressed, should a similar situation arise in the future.

Unfortunately, people don't know how to fight due to being weakened as a result.

It's time that we rise above and make a change today to prevent being controlled again in the future because if another outbreak occurs in the future, our rights will be taken away again.

We are stronger than we know!

We can't allow this to happen and that is why I wrote "Make It Through"

I used a type of synthesizer sound called "Dark Moon" which captured this feeling of being alone in how an individual views the world.

I also used a standard 8 Beat Modern style beat which sets the tone of the song pretty well.

For the recording of "Make It Through", I changed the tempo of the beat from 120 to 125 because I felt 120 was a bit too slow for my liking.

After several takes today, "Make It Through" came together pretty well and I was pleased with the result.

I still felt that parts of the song were rushed a little bit but this is a new song so I still need to play and practice it so that it's perfect in the future for when I perform "Make It Through" live.

I already have a few songs about control and standing up for your rights.

"Trails and Tribulations" and "Break Out" are two of those songs and now we can add "Make It Through" to the list.

Anyways, I hope y'all enjoy "Make It Through".

1) "Sing (The Only Way Out)"
2) "Break Out"
3) "Ashbourne Drive"
and
4) "City of Dreams"

It is great to be coming up with new songs again and hopefully more soon.

I hope y'all have a wonderful rest of your Sunday and take care for now.

Lyrics:
(Musical intro)
(Turn on beat)
(Musical interlude)
(Refrain)
Make it through
It's up to you
Nobody's around now
It's up to you
Make it through
It's up to you
Nobody is here now
It's up to you
(Verse 1)
World's gone
and there's nothing we can do
The world is wrong
but it wasn't up to you
Changes were made
by the government
Opposition rose
but jail, they were sent
Oh
(Back to refrain)
(Verse 2)
Forced into our homes
by the man
when a virus came and
swept the land
Found an excuse to
control us
Fined the people
if they made a fuss
Oh
(Back to refrain)
(Musical interlude)
(Bridge)
We are not the same but
we are not to blame
It's time for us
to find a way
to make it through
today
or obey!
(Musical interlude)
(Back to refrain)
(Musical interlude)
(Ending)
It's time you made
a change
Today! (Turn off beat)
