IMPORTANT NOTE: The Strict connection is pulled from this release, so it will not be released in May!!! Hey! Let me know what feature of this release you like best. I'm curious!

I found this to be particularly funny at 5:33.

I love all the new features. PARTICULARLY, I use a lot of datetime helpers for automations, so being able to create them on the fly in the automation editor is nice. I was hoping the dashboard "Sections" editor would be changed from "experimental" to beta so I can feel safe in updating more of my dashboards. Maybe next month.
  • I haven't messed with my roborock setup in a while, but I think this just makes it easy to get the room ID. For my house where I have an Alexa in most rooms, and an upstairs and downstairs robot, I made a home assistant script so that I could tell Alexa "Vacuum the room". The script would determine what Alexa device I spoke to in order to determine what room I was in at the time, then send a command to Roborock to clean just that room. I remember having to do some weird trial and error stuff to get the room ID numbers needed for that. Seems like this should simplify things or maybe even make it possible to have automations using room names, with the ID lookups being entirely hidden.

As always perfect introduced the new features ! I really like your videos and I learned so much about HA and you made me dive into that things more than expected. I owe you a drink !

I like helpers on the fly, should come really handy. the additional table functionality was already a bit overdue. Good progress , even though I have now stopped updating instantly after the issues of the march or april release cause I will stay away from monthly updates which have cost far too many problems in my productive environment in the past. Not sure where to go but I guess quarterly updates maybe 1 months later might be a safer solution even though I enjoyed your videos and checkiing out these features month by monthy cause over 3 month there could be a lot that should be watched. I am torn between 3 + 1 month and every second month 10 days after for now.

Thank you for mentioning my tile card lock features 😊

I have been meaning to ask for a while, if you find in a new release that it makes one your integrations stop working they way it should then how do you continue to upgrade to get HA improvements moving forward

They had a few bugs with Strict Connections still. Thanks for the pinned comment. I think they are hoping to add it for 2024.6 now. Sometimes these small releases are better than the the larger ones. Just have to watch a few of the "non-backward compatible changes" especially with relative time in scripts. I think the ability to add helpers on the fly is a great feature that will prove very useful as you don't have to remember to create helpers before making the automations.

Before activate strict connections, let them first fix the 'Keep me logged in' option. I have to login again so many times in the browser.
