Star Wars: Battlefront 2 was a game coming off immense disappointment from the 2015 reboot of the series. Having waited 12 years for another good Battlefront game, fans had high hopes for the latest installment by DICE and EA. What fools we all were... to have hope.

If it seems like I'm more pissed off at this game than I should be, I guess it's because Battlefront was one of my favorite things to play back in the day. I think my anger stems from what the series COULD be at this point in time, but how it actually turned out. I will play this game for maybe another month just for the novelty of playing a newer Star Wars game. I still do not recommend buying this game. Because EA has to ruin everything.

Your father grew up in poverty on some planet that the Republic has always neglected. During his late teens, the Clone Wars raged on, but they didn't affect him because neither side was interested in his planet. But then the Empire came along and his planet became a major economic center, and so he started living a comfortable middle class life. He decided to get married start a family. He had two children: you and your older brother. For years, you grew up on this safe, clean Imperial planet, and your father always told you stories of how hard life was before the Empire came along, and how lucky you are to live under their protection. One day, you hear the news reports about the destruction of the first Death Star, which was a symbol of order and security. A memorial is erected in your local park, listing the names of the people from your town who were killed. You're still just a kid, but your older brother decides to join the Imperial Army and become a stormtrooper to fight the Rebel terrorists who want to destroy your way of life. You and your father have never been so proud. A few years later, you hear about a disaster on Endor. You find out the Empire was secretly building a new Death Star, but the Rebels have destroyed that one too. But this time, your brother was on board. Your father falls into a spiral of depression. He stops working, and the bills start piling up. You end up having to move out of your house and into a small, dingy apartment. He occasionally has angry outbursts, and your mother becomes afraid of him. She divorces him, and takes you with her to live with your grandmother. A few weeks later, you hear that your father has killed himself. You need to support your mother, so you try to find a job, but with the destruction of the Death Star came economic unrest. Investors panicked and stocks plummeted. Businesses all over your planet close their doors. Unemployment, homelessness, and crime rates skyrocket. There is no hope for a brighter tomorrow. You now hate the Rebels more than anything. Your eighteenth birthday is coming up. Soon you will be old enough to join the Imperial military yourself. Your quest for justice is about to begin.

This video should be archived so years down the line people can see just how scummy game companies were about loot boxes

I still find it funny how the old battlefront 2 had a way more interesting story and more compelling main character despite the fact we never see the main clone, Hell you never even learn his name. It also worked better for what type of game it was, an old veteran recounts his time in the Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire, and you play through the large scale battles being described.

They made us fight bugs to remind us of what their games are full of.

Death Star blows up Inferno Squad: Oh no! Anyway
  • Let's be honest, Act Man just wanted to review this game to flex his saber moves on us
  • ‘The emperor is dead’ Disney: That’s not true...that’s IMPOSSIBLE!
  • Bf2's story could've been like 1st act: we get a view in Iden's childhood with objectives to work like a tutorial to teach the player about interactable objects 2nd act: we get an in depth of imperial training with the player doing target practice and learn about advanced movement like rolling then the player is pointed out by the imperial trainer 3rd act: We get to see Iden as a disciplined imperial soldier and do some missions while being introduced to her squad 4th act: new hope, the player takes control of Iden's starcraft and following orders of her superior which is her father on the death star while the player has to destroy rebel ships from cruisers alongside the rest of the squad. But then bang death star goes boom alongside her father is big dead. 5th act: Empire strikes back, the player is on hoth along side stormtroopers killing rebel scum and Vader is seen ahead for some fan service witnessing the rebel's escape. 6th act: Endor yada yada a more angry iden with her comrades having to calm her down as she has ptsd and allows the player to go pew pew on some rebels. And i am going to stop because this was just an excuse to make some fan fiction.

Everyone: is the threat real? The act man: yes we believe it is.

Ah, the jumping out of a airlock and landing on a ship tactic. Definitely something original, it's not like Halo 2 did that
  • I can't help but feel like the Empire slaughtering loyal citizens is a metaphor for how EA treated the people who bought Battlefront 2.
  • 5:50 best line I've ever heard - "some families say a prayer before thanksgiving... That's to get you hyped for stuffing your face"

I lost my shit when I died on the bug section and had to do that all over again.

The Emperor's last order: "Blast this box of puppies because it's evil and we're the bad guys in the story!"
  • Ea: here is a bad version of battlefront 2 you old Star Wars fans have been waiting for Hardcore fans: It’s treason then
