  • Smart decision not attempting to make straight authentic Filipino dishes, since he's not even married to anyone of Filipino decent. By mixing it up and making it his own, he doesn't give the appearance of appropriating Filipino culture. Might even be Filipino by way of Hawaii (large Filipino immigrant population), as Spam is a much bigger deal there than in the Philippines.

  • I'm a Filipino, but there's only one brand of banana ketchup that I use with my dishes... If it's not Jufran, I'd rather use tomato ketchup instead.
