For anyone wondering, this is how the competition works:
It's held over 2 days, and teams are comprised of 8 members - 2 in each of Category A (small ponies), Category B (medium ponies), Category C (large ponies) and Hacks (horses). Each combination jumps four rounds on Saturday, and one final round on Sunday.
There were a total of 19 teams competing, with 38 riders in each division.
Scoring:
As usual in Show Hunter, each round was scored out of 100. The combined score of each rider, including their Equitation round, was added up for the final Team score.
For the Individual scoring, the four hunter rounds are added up and the top 6 receive rosettes. For the Equitation, the top 6 are awarded rosettes. The Eq doesn't count toward the overall individual placings in each category, but it does count towards the Team score.
Paris scored as follows:
Round 1 - 45 (because JJ dropped a rail) [32nd]
Equitation - 76.5 [7th]
Round 2 - 76 [8th]
Round 3 - 72 [17th]
Round 4 - 73 [16th]
Overall - 266 [17th out of 38]
Overall the Horowhenua Yellow team finished in 2nd place! And our other team, Horowhenua Blue, finished 5th.
More video to come with footage of the other riders (although sadly I didn't get any of the Cat A riders but they did very well, especially Olivia who finished 3rd overall in her division).
