Published 2024-04-13
Here's our Complete DIY Van Build Van Tour of our 2011 LWB 170 4x4 Sprinter Van Conversion. We set up our van for off-grid full-time Van Life travel, and we've just completed a three-year Lap of Australia.

Our van features a bathroom with composting toilet and hot shower, stove with oven, and a HUGE garage with room for our Mountain Bikes and Kite-surfing gear.

You can find a full list of all the products and appliances we've used in our campervan conversion at nigelandsueadventures.com/van-conversion-product-l…

Love how many things have a dual purpose and that you have a cubby hole for each of your items. Extremely well planned. There is a lot to think about when you travel and l know l am constantly changing things up. It's a true art to know what you absolutely need compared to what you do absolutely need, and you have got this down, Pat! Love your van design, an inspiration to all venturers. 😊

  • Wonderful design! I'm with you on the bathroom. I wouldn't have a camper without one.

Great tour, and as I've said before, I love your van design. You've included pretty much everything I have wanted in a van. Great job. A custom van like yours is so much better than the commercial ones in Australia at least. Much more cosy, homely, and beautiful. You've done a great job with it. 🤗😍

You guys probably built a much better van than the professionals would ever do and the full bathroom is definitely worth the room it takes up, which really is very little. Real professional job and because of you two I'm thinking of selling up and because I'm too lazy, buying a van and travelling around. If I ever get that far, that's another question, but you two certainly set me thinking about it.

Loved your build, I thought the sliding cupboard was ingenious. We also live in our Sprinter but are still new to it, loving the life style. I was wondering how much water you have as I can’t remember you mentioning it. Thanks for the tour, might see you around the traps sometime ❤
  • What an amazing use of space. You must have put an enormous amount of planning into that build.

Thanks for the inspiring experience. Seeing how you have built your home gives me more ideas for my next project. When I choose and rearrange my life! Life from normal framework and converted to 100 percent Vanlife. Thank you 😉 Best regards from Lars in Denmark (Scandinavia)

Link to conversion list missing a trailing / and doesn't work. BTW that page is incredibly helpful, and this conversion is easily the best we've seen.
