Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned a day after she testified before the House Oversight Committee on the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump, CBS News confirms. Cheatle faced tense questions on Capitol Hill Monday about her agency's failure to secure the site of the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where an armed man targeted the former president. CBS News' Nikole Killion and Scott MacFarlane have the latest.

  • So was she just not aware what responsibility meant? She needed someone to explain to her that she was responsible and what that meant?

"nearly failing" ? These news reporters are out of touch as well. She failed 100%.

All that She endured Yesterday just to Resign the next Day πŸ˜…

Now they have to firer the ones on scene that stood and did nothing..!!!!
  • She found out taking responsibility doesn't just mean saying she is responsible and collecting a bosses pay check

We would expect that after 20 years in the S.S. the director would actually know something about the responsibilities of the job. Unfortunately most governent job advancement is based on the amount of time one has been employed, not on merit.

Ga bye, Kim……..your incompetence finally caught up with you?! See ya!
  • Allowing a range finder in a Republican Rally is far more suspect than me having my coffe cup confiscated boarding a plane.
  • She was unable to answer questions she was asked, did she forget her homework? Or was there any conspiracy, could be anything. Maybe they manipulated Crooks to take the shot and ignored his presence in that rally. She was acting as if she can do whatever she wanted. She was there to answer questions not for amusement. Women can't even handle their house and she went to take charge of an agency that is responsible for someone's security, what a joke?😊😊😊

Her whole story is just bizarre πŸ€” Resignation was her only option really
  • @bookertee3057
She should have been fired and her retirement taken away.

Next time, less affirmative action and more security

So why does everyone miss the fact that the shooter had made commercials for blackrock and Cheatle's only life work history besides SS was for a company owned by Blackrock.

Good news, and hope the next chief is not a diversity hire.
