How to make SpongeBob Squarepants Plushie! DIY

I always wonder how to make a squarish shape plushie so I tested out with sponge and stocking(instead of socks) and it works perfectly! I like how the stocking fits closely over the sponge while still maintaining the squarish shape. With the combination of needle felting, Spongebob came out looking 3-D! I am very happy for that :D

you are so creative! I love it, but wouldn't the felt fall off easily? i know it is mostly for display, but could you play with it? after all it is a plushie.
