My mom sang with Jimmy Dorsey in the 40’s. She was a professional singer until MS made her unable. I love this music.
  • I was born in 1957, and I remember cranking up the old Victrola to listen to the sounds of the forties. And when I started working in a grocery store in 1973 at the age age of sixteen, forties big band was being played on the store PA system. I have loved that music as long as I can remember.
  • At 76 I've loved big band and swing since I was about 3 years old. Mom's kitchen radio was my vehicle to another time and place.
  • I was born in 1967 and grew up listening to this and the more traditional stuff like Bing Crosby, Dean Martin, Elvis etc. It doesn’t feel like Christmas to me without this music!

I was born in 65. My parents raised me listening to classical, jazz/big band 50s Rock n Roll, the Samba/Bossa Nova of the early 60s, All the great crooners, folk music, and on and on…

I love Swing, Big Band and Jazz. Loved it since I was in the sixth grade, in 1980.
  • This music is magical. It brings a feeling of comfort and joy. To anyone reading this, May you have a Merry Christmas and have the ultimate happiness of knowing Jesus as your savior. God bless.🎄
  • To some one out there, whoever needs a cheering up right now: fighting!! The storm is only temporary, the storm and raging seas will go and calm down and you will finally see the sun and feel peace. You got this, whatever it is that you’re going through, you will get over it, you will overcome it, you won’t stay there. You are already so strong just being alive and living every day out, so keep going at it, never give up, you can do this. You will overcome. You will succeed. You will get through it all. I got through the storm of a very hard chapter in my life, you will too. Not as fast as we would like, but it will end soon! Don’t give up, be as optimistic as you can! Take that free time to yourself! Do what makes you feel happy and at peace! Don’t neglect yourself and rest, take care of yourself and eat well. You need to vent it out, cry it all out. For you aren’t alone. So many are with you in this long fight called life. And we will all get through it. Everyone will get through it. You got this. You’ve made it so far, look at you, you are never going down. Congratulate yourself on those small efforts- waking up, getting up and going on through your day, doing that homework, caring for yourself, eating well, giving yourself the time you need, feel proud of the resistance you have had through all this time. The storm will pass, it won’t last forever. So to who ever you are, I am very proud of you. I really am. It’s not easy. I know for a fact from personal experience that it’s not. But you’re here. You’re alive and breathing. Your doing so well already. You got this. Keep going you, and reach high. You will get there, you will conquer, you will overcome. Fighting

I should have been born 31 instead of 51. I love swing and the music of the 40s and 50s.

Born in the 80s and have always had a love for this music. Especially at Christmas. Just makes it feel like Christmas to me.

Big band does it the BEST! Those horns! Takes me back to junior high and how I was developing a love for this great music. The best rhythm in the world!
  • Ho!Ho!Ho! Here's fresh comment for 2022. I love jazzy Christmas music. Born in 1958. Been a metalhead all my life. But jazz is good too. Happy Holidays...

A store I managed in Reno used to sell Northstar Music. Always good Christmas music!

Look up Jo Stafford. SKI TRAILS…… mom and dad had the album and we played it from Thanksgiving till after New Year’s Eve. More like winter time songs, then Christmas songs, but she had such a beautiful velvet voice. The first side and second side can both be found on YouTube.
