Highway 51 in Tulsa, OK. I stopped to help a fellow rider who I spotted on the side of the road. The responding ambulance got t-boned by a driver not paying enough attention.

The rider seemed to just have scrapes, though I suspect he'll feel it the next few days. He told me as we talked that he'd just bought the bike a few hours before.

Filmed on an Insta360 OneRS. My bike is a KTM 390 Duke.

Crashed Rider, shorts and short-sleeved shirt. Assisting rider, FULL GEAR. Hope the skin lost to pavement helped educate that Crashed Rider. Started riding in Tulsa at 14 years old in 1978. Wore full gear from day 1. After I was 18 I did try riding without a jacket for a week. Bird and bug impact taught me quickly to go back to full gear. Stayed that way since then. 45 years riding on the road without a crash. Hope your riding time is a fortunate.

So very thankful my daughter (ambulance driver), her partner, and motorcycle driver were okay. Praying the suv driver is okay, but don't know. People do not slow down or stop for first responders. We see it daily when responding to calls. Very blessed the Lord watches over all of my children. I am proud of her still checking on her patient after being hit like that.

What a wild moment. An ambulance for an ambulance
  • @timengstrom8726
I see so many drivers on their phones not watching the roadway.

Couple weeks ago, one of the construction crew workers got hit by a car a similar in this situation. People man, speed kills. Good on ya for helping out this guy.

Good Lord, it was my daugher driving the ambulance that day. How do you not see flashing lights?!
  • @michaelbaker4575
jesus christ. if you see flashing lights ahead of you, you should already be slowing down... to be fair though, crossing multiple lanes like that was definitely risky. hope everyone in the car is ok

The guy was killed here riding a motorcycle when he swallowed a bee.
  • @firstlast-yn4qg
kind of bad idea for the ambulance to block multiple lanes at once at dusk for people coming at speed.

Ambulance crossing the road… flashbacks to the roebling incident. where the ambulance crossed the race track almost killing 2 motorcycle riders.
