May of 2019 is commemorable since the Union Pacific 'Big Boy #4014 is completely restored to operation and her first excursion run will begin in this month during the 150th anniversary of the First Transcontinental Railroad's completion!

To celebrate the reborn of UP #4014, we made this video of a causal "excursion race" between the UP Big Boy and an N&W Class A #1242 (instead of #1218), one of the N&W Class A that didn't survive from the torch; in memory of all the beautiful steam engine that didn't escape the fate of being scrapped.

Due to the limitation of Trainz simulator, both engines excessed its design top speed (a lot!).

The UP #4014 is a rather old freeware available on Trainz DLS.
N&W A Class 2-6-6-4 is a product of K&L Trainz.

BigBoy would out do the A on its own! Heck an Allegheny would out pull the A but it would be close. Now a BigBoy and a Y6 would be a match. Depends on Grade and if Speed matters. I do like the Y6 and the A though.

I see a mistake: X4014 has a companion, and the A class does not. Should the 844 be removed or should the N&W 611 be added behind the A class?

Big Boy needs no assistance to deal with the Class A. That wouldn’t be fair due to big TE difference.
