Why does bags have to be such a beautiful song? It's making me feel different emotions at the same time. I am so freaking in love with this song regardless of the times I've listened to it.

i know this song is technically happy in its lyrics and message, but i find myself feeling so melancholy in a nostalgic, heartstring-tugging way every time i hear it. i've cried listening to it. emotionally it feels like a goodbye even though the message is positive and i can't pinpoint why. absolutely beautiful.

Shoutout to yellow shirt girl. Her backup vocals sat perfectly behind Clairo's, and had just the right embellishments in certain places. Then she whips out that sax and absolutely sends this version into orbit. Incredible.

I like to think that with every performance she grows, that it is more of a memory that she can look back to, and something she feels she has grown from since. Every performance of bags tugs at my heart strings and reminds me of the fondness I once had for someone. A CLASSIC. <3
