So I finally tried Dark Souls

TODAY I decided to play Dark Souls for the FIRST time ever, and it went basically how you would expect it to go. I have played very little of souls games in general in the past, and today was no expectation. Because I failed very horribly at this right from the start. I think my main issue is understanding what everything does in these games, I feel like I only focus on the very basicness of it all and miss out on the cool features you can use to win.

First time I fought and beat the Taurus demon, I had completely misunderstood how throwable items worked in the game - I killed him via firebomb, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I threw one, it was by frantically opening my inventory, searching for the firebomb, and clicking it. My friends were rolling on the floor when I showed them my triumphant replay...

Dude this was maybe one of my favorite Dark Souls vids I've seen in a while. The pure struggle when first playing the games is REAL. You were just bringing all those feelings back. Then the ecstasy of beating a boss you've been going at for hours. Then immediately dying to some random dude with a spear or some environmental trap. I'm gonna be hype if you continue this as a series.

I can feel the pain with every passing minute, but I commend you infinitely for sticking to your guns and beating the Taurus Demon for this video. I do hope you play more, even if it kills you inside. It is a very worthwhile experience...even if it's just for more content.

A wonderful world where everyone is insane, platforming is as much of a threat as the actual enemies, stamina is an issue for no one except you, doors open from the side you're not on, chests will occasionally eat you, and bullies will invade your world just to ruin your day!

Brother, you can do a jump attack on Taurus Demon if you get up the ladder and fall on his head while holding R1. Comes in handy with a bunch of other bosses later. Hope to see you play this again! (it gets way better btw lol)

If you lower your equipment load below 25% then you get a faster roll with more i-frames. It is worth it.

When fighting the black knights the best way to kill them is to parry them and ripost. It is the fastest way to kill them early on on the game.
