  • Such a beautiful piece of Walnut, Gary! Absolutely gorgeous! Your expert turning didn't do it any harm, either but brought out all the grain and color it has! Most excellent finish, this is just a prime example of what can be done with a piece of Black Walnut when you put it in the hands of a craftsman. Well done, my friend, keep'em coming! 😊 Phil

Simply beautiful, Gary. I think you and Phil were on the same wavelengths this week. He created a gorgeous oval live edge bowl from Myrtle, you created this stunning black Walnut live edge oval bowl. Both are beautiful! Hope house had a great Fourth Celebration
  • Gary, that's a pretty sweet piece. I too like the final result. I'd let that find a resting spot on my table any day!

It amazes me how you are able to turn a piece of lumber that most would either cut up to use or burn. Learn in every video how to use different pieces of lumber. Keep up the amazing work. 👽

The rpm and filming made it possible to see the outline of the bowl being made. The spinning log looks like an old projection film. Nicely done bowl and love the walnut.
  • Not much to say. You chose a great piece of the best wood to start with. You did your typical artful turning on it. Beautiful bowl!
  • When you first put the seal coat on, it reminded me of those old-fashioned root beer barrel candies. Time for me to get some more walnut, that's a beautiful bowl!
  • @iluomopeloso
That is lovely. The chatoyance makes the outside look a lot like a tiger's eye.

Hard to beat the beauty of walnut! You really brought this one to life, Gary. Well done!
  • @MarklTucson
Beautiful piece and beautiful wood Gary. That walnut looks great. Interesting coincidence that you and Phil both turned the same shaped bowls this week.

Walnut is one of my favorite woods and I have a ton of it. My neighbor had a huge Walnut tree trimmed and I got most of the wood. Your bowl is simply gorgeous!
