I wish you did two separate videos, one about the Ubisoft game, even when sponsored, it looked fun enough to see a video about! And one about Rhonie's story, he opened up about the heavy family history and his life's work to hunt for the treasure. It felt disrespectful to have combined these two topics in one. Hope you read the comments, because obviously, we LOVE your videos and this is the beautiful and unique side of YT, where you can interact almost immediately with your audience and they can give you direct feedback. This video didn't feel like you and I hope you start "hearting" supportive feedback comments too, instead of the "positive-only" comments. We all love your work!!

This video was a really big oof..did not like michelle attitude and downplay of their stories, also the fact that she only spends a few days on this, unlike her other videos where she spends weeks even months to do them to ensure that she is doing the right things:/ feels more like just a big advertisement for the thailand thing rather than caring for the actual excavation and filipino culture
  • @SpoobSnack
I don't like the twist ending. While I knew that this was being sponsored by Ubisoft, it feels like a slap in the face to the people who shared their stories and took their time to take them all the way out there. Accusing them of lying and getting upset because it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. That's what real treasure hunting is. It's gruelling and it's dangerous. The Philippines has a complex history and has been been taken advantage of by many different nations. I'd much rather have seen the people's stories highlighted and shown how resilient they are than to have had it cheapened by "too sad bro, go buy this video game instead."
  • @vrtillinfinity
Kinda disappointed the actual treasure hunting part was just thrown away for the Ubisoft event thing. I was really invested into Henry Roxas story and the hidden treasure, it really felt like those people were just used for an ad. The poor guy spoke about his father's murder and his family history to someone who never really cared about any of that. It was a big waste of time for not only Henry but those other treasure hunters. I feel like those treasure hunters are never going to want to open up like that and share their stories again to another youtuber, I hope Michelle returns one day to give them an actual video. congrats on your win though

As a Filipino, I really had fun watching your videos, especially this one! However, I'm just sad and disappointed that this became like a one big advertisement for the game, than the real "treasure hunt" with real treasure hunters who are dedicated with their work. They shared their family history (which is a very sensitive topic even today in the country), their work enthusiastically, and their passion, together with their time and effort, just for it to be, in the end, never your goal to begin with. Hence, maybe it would be best to separate these topics of the Philippine treasure hunt and the Thailand pirate hunting game. I would really be interested to watching your journey in Thailand as well. Nevertheless, please note that this isn't a hate comment, but an encouragement that hopefully next time you would take time to consider these kind of things. Although the journey wasn't what you expected, I think it would be best to reflect with these disappointments as well 😊

"I can't wait to be in Thailand because I know the Ubisoft event is gonna be a lot more fun than this" felt a bit disrespectful tbh.

I don’t know. Something about this video didn’t sit right with me. It seems like the whole thing—including the treasure-hunting bit—was very manufactured. There’s no way Michelle wouldn’t have known how much time it would take to go up the mountain, into the cave, and back down. Michelle should have known if it was doable or not before setting out. Also, and maybe because this was staged, Michelle was really rude to Henry and pretty much wasted his time and resources going up that mountain. And I hope the translator is ok. Edit: It also feels like Michelle exploited Filipino culture for the purposes of this ad. It just gave the appearance of a rich Westerner using a poor country for financial gain. I’m sure that wasn’t their intention, but considering Michelle’s arrogance throughout this episode, it seemed very much the case. Moreover, after giving this a lot of thought, I can’t help but think this was staged from the beginning. She would have known all the risks beforehand. And saying that you don’t believe the landowner??? You do realize treasure-hunting stories are passed down through word of mouth and hearsay, right? This video was a miss on all fronts.
  • I think I would've preferred if this video was like... Michelle saying "Hey, this didn't turn out well, but we fail sometimes too so we wanted to show you what a less than stellar video looks like. Here's what it looks like when an experience doesn't go according to plan!"
  • dismissing the treasure hunting to say it was never your goal to begin with was not expected. that man poured his heart into treasure hunting, spent time and effort to tell you about his family history and take you to a tunnel...and it just ends at "just kidding?" yikes
  • @zellbbh
Am I the only one (or one of the only ones) who wishes there was more to the actual treasure hunting? I get that IF they found something they couldn't post it due to the fear of being targeted n stuff, but I was SO invested in it, I was a lil disappointed with the twist. I was hoping we'd see an attempt at going inside the cave the next day, or them getting home safe. Even if nothing was found, just looking at the cave and how it was made. I always love Michelle's videos because she puts her 100% in everything and always does things so in-depth, this doesn't have the same vibe. I guess since this was planned right before the event they wouldn't have had the time to go back, though I would LOVE to see a full video of treasure hunting similar to this.
  • @KaylaGraceL
i went from being excited to enjoying it to being disappointed with how you guys’ ended the video. i mean it’s valid but i was taken aback by it.
  • @nebulavapor9011
I never comment but I love you so much, Michelle. This video just wasn't your best work. The usual level of humility and empathy you show in your videos didn't make itself apparent here. Also the end, where you transitioned into the sponsorship, felt very janky and cold. We didn't get to see what happened at the end of the initial treasure hunt, and the conclusion felt rushed. This entire thing felt very rushed if I'm honest. This man poured his heart out to you and it felt as though none of those connections mattered in the grand "I gotta beat these gamers!" scheme of it. I know you didn't intend for it to come off this way though. I hope you can better plan these kinds of videos out in the future and that you do things that don't put you under so much pressure. Maybe you should go treasure hunting here in the US next time!
  • @isaiasc4914
Those treasure hunters wont ever deal with any youtubers ever again 😂
  • @Screch
the amount of money ubisoft threw at marketing a shit game is amazing
  • @MowersNBlowers
So you got all those people to work and drive you up there and you didn’t even go in? Afraid to get wet? Travelled 7 hours to get a half hour of daylight with no water? Who planned the trip? This was by far your worse video ever!
  • @ellyonjune
I think the ubisoft event was interesting, but I preferred a separate video about it, instead of taking time from the real treasure hunt. I wanted to see the cave :(
  • @GSxxxRGirl
Ahhhh, come on, Michelle! You have been through way too much to have given up on this treasure hunting thing so easily. Totally crushed everyone's spirit throwing in the towel after one day of driving, digging, and such little equipment. I feel like not nearly enough was done to explore that cave. I get they only had so much time before the sun went down, but they could've gone back the next day. And the next day. And the next day! It's not like in the movies where the caves are already open and massive and you can just walk thorugh them. So much work goes into uncovering these hidden places, especially after the elements get to them (such as the landslide and natural erosion). I hope the guy who inherited the property goes back and doesn't give up. It was wrong of them to be so dismissive and say they don't believe in the stories when they know very little to nothing about the history or treasure hunting in general. This was messed up. Big time.
  • @MrShadowbite
Jarring and bizarre ending. Seems like you were trying to salvage this whole thing.
  • @n3va3h91
I don’t like the parts of where she says they aren’t allowed to know where they are going or be told to the mountains but yet the whole way there there’s clips of them literally showing where they are going and all the people involved and the cars w the license plates and even the guys museum and his founding from his dad like I don’t think that’s smth to be filmed and exposed to evb and now he’s maybe even in danger of the fact that evb who watches knows how much he holds and how valuable it is. This was honestly such a heart aching thing to watch because as a Filipino I feel for my people and I feel for there lives than I do your entertainment purposes and endangering them.
